To put the discussion about Elli's seemingly “superfluous” appearance in the Parkers' kitchen on a possible narrative footing:

So far, Dylan and Elli have only had separate events with Sophia. Neither knows that the other is interacting with Sophia sexually.
We know that Elli and Dylan will have an event together the next day, around the time Sophia is at the ranch. We also know that at some point there will be a chance that Elli and Dylan will fuck Sophia together.
Elli's brief appearance at this event could be L&P's attempt to build a bridge for these future events.
The next day, Elli and Dylan can not only “deal” with each other but have the opportunity to talk about Sophia, perhaps starting with what Sophia wore the night before, how bold it was and how sexy she looked in it. And so there is the possibility that they both reveal to each other that they find Sophia sexually interesting.
It's hard to say what L&P are really planning, there are so many possibilities. But I think it would be important to finally get away from everything in AWAM happening in separate, completely unrelated storylines and would really welcome more complications. As for the Dylan/Sophia story, both Ellie and Liam would be interesting here. I also think it would be important to involve Liam much more in the story. So far, although he is part of the family, his role in relation to Dylan and Ellie is somewhat non-existent.

Anyway, what strikes me is that L&P has once again created great potential with this update. Unfortunately, he has created similar opportunities in previous updates (e.g. the Sam event with the window), which have been left hanging. Once again, one can hope that this update will really bring something forward, but it is also likely that Ellie is simply not involved at all and her appearance means absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, this would be typical for L&P.

That's not really the case, though. The storylines are fairly (and sometimes annoyingly) intertwined, to the point where dropping one can permanently stop others. E.g. blocking Ellie/Dylan early prevents Sophia/Dylan and consequently also Dylan/Emma as well as most of Dylan's interactions with other girls. Sophia similarly won't be able to get closer to Amber's son if she doesn't follow Aiden's storyline, etc.
