Yup. The scene seems to be extremely uncreative and lacking any logic (what else is new). He could've picked up where the previous scene with Neil/Liam left off centuries ago and continue with more spicy stuff involving Neil/Harris on Dylan's cuck route. I mean, chances are there's more after the kitchen but this is just bad IMO.
The leap we're seeing here between Dylan and Sophia is probably the worst part considering she woke up feeling so full of guilt, shame and whatnot mere hours ago. Sophia's memory is apparently resetting every other hour. But again, what else is new really? The nonsense presented here knows no boundaries and PD13+14 both have to be played without using any braincells.
I'm choosing to be positive. Yeah, it's a huge leap, but not everything in a game (or in real life) needs to follow a steady, ponderous, progression. In fact, part of why LP and the game are in this long-running limbo is because he's been so concerned with incremental progression. Sometimes things just
happen, sometimes the dam bursts suddenly when it was only a minor crack a short time before.
Considering the subject material, I think we're better off ripping the band-aid off. Objectively, none of this makes sense if Sophia has time to stop and think about it. In real life this would never happen. And while I think everyone here likes the idea of AWAM being a "grounded" game, the fact is that the material limits how grounded it can be. We're up against it at this point, either things need to continue at their glacial pace, or they need to happen quickly. IMO, it makes more sense to me that Sophia's defenses and resistance would collapse suddenly as opposed to gradually. To keep using the dam metaphor, the cracks have already formed and now they need to give way quickly. Getting her over the hump, beyond the point of no return, is what the story needs. I mean, it's
already happened, but let's put that aside for right now (you can't jerk Dylan off and still go back to normal). If this can FINALLY be the moment that her resistance collapses and she embraces her corruption in a dramatic way, the game will be better off for it.
To mix my metaphors, I think it's a little like being a drug addict. You do it once or twice and you're fine, but those are cracks in your sobriety. But at some point you do it and you wake up the next day
needing it. Sophia has dabbled in this before, but at some point it needs to grab hold of her and not let go. She's dabbling more than ever in this taboo, and it makes sense to me that she would overdo it this time. That's fine, and I think it makes for a better story and game. My bigger fear is that she immediately regresses back to where she was at the start of the day. That's the bigger sin; and one that the game has used too much. LP needs to let her take the big swing and, like the drug addict, this time she wakes up wanting more.
