I'm not forgetting it, but this only works in the context "we can't prove that the kid is doing bad stuff", with the game doing all that stupid dance how Sophia tries to record Aiden's confession etc. Besides, it's not like a lawyer has anything to get involved with when it's simply the case of teacher intervening in a situation where a student is clearly acting aggressive and out of line towards other students. What, you think Aiden would just start beating other kids up in front of the school faculty and not listen one bit if they told him to stop? While potentially getting recorded doing all that? Because even he isn't that stupid and it only took Sophia telling him to knock it off in the first place to break up the initial scuffle which started this whole arc.
Sophia asked the mob boss not because it was the only actual solution, but because everyone in the game have spent weeks clutching the idiot ball so they could act like there wasn't any other solution. And because it also provides a hook for the mob boss to ask for a "favor" back.
