I don't think the boys got permission from the museum director to give the two ladies a private tour. Even though one of the boys is the museum director's son. So they decided to get creative and “borrow” the key. That's why they used the back door and why the two teenagers look so uneasy.
As for the fact that they entered the museum illegally, Patricia will probably give it a positive spin, like when you used to sneak into a closed swimming pool to party. I think she'll convince her sister that this is just a lot of fun.

One thing being missed I think is that this is a Museum of modern art, not a Museum of natural history or history in general.. Way back when the 1st meeting happened I believe there was talk between the 4 that the boys were Art history students, and this was Sophia's interest as well??.. I see them ending up in a display of modern erotic art or similar, the boys have brought wine for the ladies for the private tour.. Patricia uses this as the catalyst to flirt etc.. It does make sense to not use the main entrance to enter if they shouldn't be there..

I'd say both kids are old enough to understand their actions and both have been the aggressor. Not like they're being groomed by their evil mother. Still a younger child could easily have a traumatic experience in the same situation, sad thing is they don't realize it at the time and will deal with the psychological impact for years.
