What's to argue? Sophia risks everything - she can go to jail if anyone finds out what she's doing, and she'll never work as a teacher again - for absolutely no reason. And she's meant to be an intelligent woman. At least doing Aiden's tasks has the flimsy excuse of protecting her son.

There isn't even the rationale of needing the money, since Sophia earns the money just by doing the 2nd side job, independently of teaching the boys sex-ed or not.
