It's just funny when someone who is not financially supporting the game complains about "milking" when others who are financially supporting the game are not. It's OK for people playing them game to complain about the slow progress, but if you're not contributing financially, then your opinion on "milking" is irrelevant. Besides, from the numbers it doesn't look like L&P is raking money in hand over fist with this title. Given the amount of work involved, I think he's undercompensated.
So, I said so much and you get stuck up on a word? I'm assuming you must be a paying member so can I ask wtf are you doing on a piracy forum? Doesn't L&P give enough attention on patreon or what? As you said that people who don't financially support the game have no right to question "milking" by dev, so going by the same logic, what reason do you have to be on a piracy forum? Isn't it for the love of game, I'm assuming it is, then what is the problem with discussing the imperfections of the game? You can find literally thousands of comments appreciating the dev for the content he provides,so do you also get stuck up about them financially supporting the game? I haven't seen anybody asking someone to not appreciate the dev because they don't support the game financially so what so wrong when people question him? Get off your high horse and grow up. We all are here just for the mutual love for the game, and while we appreciate the game, one has all the right to question the dev as well if he doesn't delivers.

He is doing that in between working on updates. He did not complete that so question of releasing that.
This is likely the reason why he did not started working on next update.
For me remaking old renders is a unwise option. They did not looked bad at all. These old renders may not look good from his todays work standards, but surely were a testament to developers own development as an artist.
Lets say he is going to complete this game, for which it would take him 2 decades. By that time these new renders would look old by future standards. So he would again remake them instead of working on new updates?

I haven’t given this any consideration before, but could Patricia have driven Dylan home and then been the one who saw Sophia and Sam in the window? Isn’t that part of her role in this game, so see Sophia’s sexual side and then encourage her? Patricia was the one who caught Sophia letting Tyler slide his hand under her skirt and play with her pussy. I’m vague on the Biker Bar scene now, but doesn’t Patricia realize that there is something going on between Sophia and Sam, and encourage Sophia to ride home Sam? Perhaps this will be divulged in the Museum event?
I would be almost completely persuaded by your suggestive consideration (Patricia's unexpected presence in the Parkers' home, once Dylan is excluded, would almost seem to suggest an interesting role for her in this affair) were it not for two (I think important) details:
- Patricia drives Dylan home, only if the latter has been sent to boarding school, otherwise he comes home on his own.
- I don't understand the reason why Patricia would go up to Sophia's bedroom, since, if I am not mistaken, it's the only place in the Parker house where it's possible to see what happens in Sam's room.
Granted that L&P could still invent any plausible reason to justify Patricia's presence in Sophia's bedroom, what gives me a little more pause is the possibility of tying the continuation of this eventual part of the game exclusively to Dylan's boarding school path.
I also think that the question of who might have seen Sophia naked in Sam's room is now settled (no one has seen her) and that (once Dylan is excluded) to speculate that someone else might have seen her is nothing more than giving undue importance to yet another sibylline answer that L&P gave to someone who asked for clarification on the next developments in his game.

Questioning the dev's game or story decisions is one thing, but accusing him of milking supporters is wrong, yes, if the accusations come from non-supporters. It's like if I tagged along for free on a vacation you were taking. If I asked you where we were going next or what kind of food people ate in those places, you probably wouldn't mind those questions. But if I said you should have spent more on the hotel or tipped the waiter at a restaurant more, wouldn't you get angry? You'd think, if you want to stay at a different hotel, book your own with your own money!

I support several devs who make AVNs. This is one of them. Being a supporter on Patreon is a bit like being a customer and an investor, but you're still neither one. Like an investor, there's a risk involved in supporting a dev. It's minimal risk, depending on how much money you dole out, but it exists. There is no contract and the devs are anonymous. There's no suing them or taking any other legal action if they fail to deliver. And, if the game is a big success, supporters do not share in any of the financial rewards. The only benefit is early access to the game (though this site usually has new updates posted very quickly) and maybe some other small benefits, like having your gaming handle appear in the credits. Supporters are also not customers. Paying money to the dev on Patreon is no guarantee we will get a finished game. Supporters are willing to contribute to the dev in the hopes that there will be a finished game someday, or by whatever timetable the dev might give. But patrons are essential, as they motivate developers to take time and allow them to buy software and hardware to make their games possible. Everyone here owes those supporters a lot of gratitude. I am also grateful to supporters. I do contribute to several devs, but I also pirate some games. I try to do at least a one month subscription or buy a game on Steam or something when possible, but particularly in early development, I do pirate some titles to check them out.

So I am not bashing on this site or people who use this site generally, BUT you will never find me complaining about supporters or the financial aspect. It's not worth the emotional energy and if I'm pirating the game, I have no basis on which to complain. People downloading the game for free are taking the benefit of the supporters' contributions and dev's hard work while taking zero risk themselves. Zero! So then when Patreon supporters get bashed as stupid sheep being milked, to me that is a selfish and irrelevant view.

If you used to be a Patreon supporter and stopped for whatever reason, then I confess I am more sympathetic, but even so, to me the place to express dissatisfaction is on Patreon, telling the dev you're leaving etc. I know it can be aggravating. I have supported a few titles that have been abandoned and it was enormously disappointing.

Ultimately, L&P is at the mercy of his patrons. If enough people become dissatisfied, he'll either change his approach or he'll go out of business. In any event, people who are not patrons can either enjoy the game that L&P delivers, or spend their time on something else. For the moment, the quality of the title is high and given the support L&P has, he cannot work on this fulltime. From what I can see, he's earning his money.

I happen to like that AWAM is a slow burn (the story, not the development). It's much more realistic, however frustrating it is as porn. It's OK that you don't like how slowly it's moving, too. Let's just leave "milking" out of it, please. That's not what's going on here.

Like I said in the OT thread, LP is in a no-win situation.

He can't keep "realism" without people complaining/accusing him of blue-balling, lying and milking.

He can't ditch "realism" without people complaining/accusing him of , well, ditching the realism, lying and milking.
-----------

I agree with another pervious comment, he isn't so much slow as he is inefficient. I've made the same point several times. He works at a similar speed as other devs with higher quality games. The difference is he uses 12 renders when another dev would use 5.

If he made 300 renders for 3 events instead of 350 renders for 1, despite literally being fewer renders, most people wouldn't complain about the pace anymore. Realism or not.

Your comment doesn't make much sense, because the participation options on Patreon are mostly linked to an active subscription. People who are disappointed with L&P will certainly not pay money just to have the privilege of doing this in his forum. :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, Why don't you just leave it up to the mods of this forum to decide what's okay to talk about here? If people have fun expressing their disappointment about AWAM development speed here, I see no issue at all. When L&P is ready to seek honest feedback, he can always stop by here. :D

Except L&P is producing less overall renders each year for the past 3+ years. Yeah, less renders per event would speed up story progress which is the main issue as a single PD is taking 2+ years by now, but if he continues to create less renders every coming year, we'd eventually be back where we are now even if he were to reduce the render count per event.

But this would him make him not stand out IMO.
Maybe, but what makes him stand out the most is a VN that needs 35+ years to be finished. I'd prefer the lesser evil. Worked perfectly fine for early PD's where events where much shorter.

Sorry guys, can anyone tell me if the blackmail with Mr. Bennet is still ongoing or has it been thrown off the story ?
Don't remember.

But this comes always here from like the same 3 people over and over again. If you ready the Patreon messages there is no one really complaining much. Most even say Take your Time.

Yes it is still on. But I think he gave her 14 Days so it will be a long long time XD

You are not exactly wrong. I'd say he's got about ~1500 patrons who stay with him, no matter what (well, atleast for now). The remaining ~500 he gains over the span of a month are either those who subscribe for 1 month to get the latest update and leave, or new patrons who notice how the game's progress is crawling, leaving after a couple months at most. But he's not gaining more support for quite a while now, for very good reasons I might add. In fact, the average patron tier went down the past 12 months.

But here's the thing...The number of people who dislike the slow development exceed the number of happy fellas by far. He could easily have 10k+ patrons by now, but the slow development (and most likely his persona) is shooting him in the foot. But L&P seems to be fine with that, and it's his project.

That said, you know very well that there's more than 3 people here being aware of- and addressing the slow development. It's likely the single biggest point L&P is known for.

It's still going, but Bennett gave the Sophia 2 weeks to decide on his ultimatum and that was on PD10. So she doesn't need to give an answer until PD24, which might be as long as 20 years away.

With Bennett not even being in the Favorite Character poll, we know that he's not going to have any significant scenes in the foreseeable future.

Sophia even has an out by going to the school board, so the storyline isn't really going anywhere anyway. The Twist being removed I think is showing that the appetite for blackmail amongst supporters might not be that high

Is L&P really increasing his membership numbers or are they staying more or less the same?
Do he need to increase the membership numbers? Also if he went lets say 300 Renders for 3 scenes. Do you think he would lose subscribers ? He plays it save but would I risk a healthy income?

Seems the last major jump in patron numbers was about this time last year. Since then numbers appear to be more or less the same, just the usual sawtooth pattern.

What I find curious is that they're reporting that earnings per patron is decreasing, so it seems what patrons L&P does have are dropping to lower tiers.

If what you are suggesting is true then we again have three choices as with the Jacuzzi event. And again, the choice that makes Sophia look the most like a mental bimbo is the choice that continues the relationship with Sam.
In the Jacuzzi event, it was the choice where Sam didn't care at all about the consequences of his actions for Sophia if Liam had seen him in the water.
And in this event:
- When Sophia says after her orgasm "What did I just do, I love my husband!", Sam replies "You just need time". Here he drops the mask, in my opinion.
- No one enters my room without knocking. Now admittedly a white lie, but a lie.
- When Sam makes a connection between a woman's menstrual phase and her mental abilities and L&P doesn't let Sophia disagree.
I was quite happy at the end that the choice not to give Sam a kiss without consequences does not let me continue the route.
If that changes again now I wonder if two times is already a pattern and the next time we have again three decision options of which but only one, the stupidest, the route continues.
ERRATA CORRIGE
Sorry guys I went too fast on that one.
There is no bug, you actually stop the relationship if Sophia doesn't give a kiss to Sam (cheek or mouth, it doesn't matter). I must have been tired and I didn't check the code again:
Python:
menu day20_Sophia_decides_how_to_thank_Sam:
    "Thank him":
        scene day20_At_Sams_place 457
s "Thanks, Sam. But... just carrying it out like that would be a bit inconvenient, as you can imagine."
s "Plus. I really don't know if it would be appropriate to take it home with me. After all, this is basically evidence."
        scene black with fade
"Sam was a little bit disappointed but still understood Sophia's decision. And so they went down to Amber in the kitchen."
        # here there is jump so day20_Sophia_continues_romance_with_Sam remains False
        jump day20_Sophia_Sam_in_kitchen_with_Amber

"Thank him with a kiss on the cheek":
        scene day20_At_Sams_place 454 with Dissolve(0.35)

"Thank him with a kiss on his mouth":
"Sam didn't quite expect that kind of gesture and was more than pleased about it."
st "Dammit, I came here to end all this nonsense and now I'm voluntarily kissing him on the mouth. All this after we almost got caught twice!"
st "What's wrong with me? Why does Sam have to be so amazing?!"

$ day20_Sophia_continues_romance_with_Sam = True
Apologies for the commotion I might have caused.
Bishop Robert will find the appropriate penance for my recidive sinful soul.
