I am guessing it is because it's all cliche based.I really wish that VNs could get away from either trying to be a 00s direct-to-video Van Wilder sequel, “A young man is forced to move back in with his totally not-parents and totally not-sisters”, or “family moves to new town”. I’ve got so many near-identical VNs in my folder that just kind of blend into one another, and by the time each one updates, I can’t remember who’s who, or what’s what.
There are many games i can't identify with because of the setting. But this is also true for movies. Mostly well off people that have big mansions and have hot sex.
Not much for the average person that lives in a shitty flat and has a so so job. And so there aren't many average settings in games.
Though the move back part isn't so unusual i think. Especially today. Another setting i haven't seen much but is almost a cliche is the "girl wants to be famous in Hollywood but ends up in porn instead". Sad stories really but i haven't seen much games that use it as a theme.
