It's not about pacing. It's about satisfaction. And plausibility - for some of us.

Game of Thrones is a prime example. 7 seasons of pretty well universally praised content. Then the execution of the final season ruined the experience of the show for many.

The show delivered what everyone was wanting but the execution tainted the delivery.

As for this game, yeah many will be satisfied with just getting the content they want, but how satisfying will it really be? For some, the content is all they care about but after spending several years with a character, a porn game logic payoff will feel hollow to me.

Liam has gone to work and is yet to be back in the game. When he wanted to get back into the L&P game, he had additional work for Liam, replying to patron posts and responding to this day. When he's done, maybe L&P will let him join the game and his beloved Sophia.

The only plausible storyline in the game that sets Sophia up for infidelity is the one with the swinging proposal from the engaged couple. If Liam wants to swing, and all indications are he does, and Sophia doesn't; that provides her with a motive.

Especially since Liam is often too busy or tired to have sex and when he is available, his performance leaves Sophia unsatisfied.

This disagreement could result in a big fight between them. And, who knows?, maybe separation - temporary or permanent.

All the other storylines rely on porn logic.

Sophia will want to go further than Liam on this swinging path at some point. Her husband will feel like he is losing control and will ask or push Sophia to go back to conventional cohabitation in a marriage. Sophia, the player, will have the choice to decide whether or not to keep the marriage.

This would all help to build up some internal pressure on Sophia to pay attention and reward those people who show an interest in her, particularly Ellie/Dylan/Sam/Patricia/Nathalie.

I think that the positive responses she received from those partners would, internally, make her feel justified to share/continue to share more than she would have a month ago, after all - it's not like Liam can be bothered ...

Because Liam is focussed on sleeping with Cathy and not considering that means Andy will get to sleep with Sophia. There will come a moment when Liam will come to that realisation, and because Liam will then get jealous, then in the long term you are right that Liam will want to close Pandora's Box and go back ot monogamous relationship.

Exactly - Liam initial obvious desire to sleep with Cathy will help push Sophia into getting what SHE wants. Once she has slept with one man outside her marriage (Andy) then it will become progressively easier her to sleep with others.

Further, Sophia may only suspect that he is cheating (or swinging) for her to go forward with extra-marital sex. Something small and insignificant might push her over the edge - something mis-interpreted & unsubstantiated - like why was he at the clothing store with that young woman? Yes, possible. But L&P said that Liam will not cheat and will not sleep with other women without Sophia knowing. Of course, this statement can also be interpreted that Liam is cheating on Sophia and only believes that he is doing it secretly.
But I find the idea more exciting that Sophia is going through a development that Liam won't or can't follow. We players will know that Sophia has cheated on her husband several times, but Liam, who probably has no idea, will give Sophia a choice: either he and a conventional marriage, or Sophia will have to leave.

I didn't believe the developers words when he said that Liam won't cheat; there was a scene in Part 1 of the game where Sophia and Patricia are going shopping and they bumped into Liam who was purchasing clothing... what was odd about Liam's behavior is that he looked completely panicky and feeling caught like he wasn't supposed to seen by anyone and immediately left after a couple of words being exchanged. Even Patricia found it weird that he behaved that way and supposedly insinuated to Sophia that he could be cheating. Sophia brushed it off.

What I found weird about that interaction was that if the developers -one of- priorities is to keep the game realistic then I don't see how Sophia doesn't start interrogating him in the ladies clothing shop with full support of her sister; they could have Beyonce and Solange him like what happened to Jay Z without the violence. -In real life- Sophia would have not let it slide even if their date night ended with her following through a surprise Liam laid out for her and told her to model the lingerie 'he bought for her'. Seemed sketchy.

Secondly, just before the 3rd Aiden task started Sophia left for obvious reasons leaving Liam by himself alongside her friends and mutual friend Cathy. It is actively encouraged for Liam to make decisions to increase his enticement for Cathy. She is making all the moves to see if hes interested and he following her like the aromatic scent of pollen hypnotizing a bee to follow it. He's even given the option to look at her half naked breast three times in the mirror in which he gets caught.

During the end of that event day Sophia asks him whether the offer of opening the relationship is a good idea and it's him who's persuading her to think about it, as far to say it will increase their chances of having a 3rd child Sophia's been asking for. It's not cheating as per say but it does make it look like he's actively looking for other women.

I'm not saying this is in-definitive; it does look like he's trying to make something work.
