AWAM is one of the most complex stories on the market. Don't know about "The most" but definitely in the top 5. Your point on "To be continued" is a byproduct of the complexity, as it's pretty much impossible to develop all the routes at once.
Sophia's routes. Good Wife, Filthy, Lesbian + all the LI's and often branches involving the LI's. Like Aiden's tasks, Morello etc.
Dylan's routes. Boarding school. His unknown "cuck" stat, his own LI's.
Ellie's routes. Her BF, her friends, maybe Sam etc.
^ This, pretty much.Which is my main gripe with this game. L&P has shown he can deliver timely updates with content for all players. He just chooses not to.
Sure, AWAM has the potential to be complex with all the routes. But with L&P developing 1 PD in 2 years, this potential for complexity is turning into nothingness. There's people out there who aren't getting any content for AGES in their playthroughs due to the slow development. You're basically talking about a product we could have in 30 years, but currently most routes are not progressing at all, or at a pace where complexity is not the right word to describe it, imo. Just a bunch of dead-ends.
So yeah, the potential is there. But like Alley_Cat said, L&P is developing the game in a way where many routes fall completely flat due to the pace at which new updates come out. That, and the ridiculous size for a single scene which results in almost zero progress story-wise.
That, to me, is not real complexity. It's more of a waiting game for something that'll never see the end of it. But yeah, I should have worded it differently. I guess in a way you could say it's too complex even, which is the byproduct you mentioned. It all comes down to the slow development in the end, which is why this potential for complexity is going nowhere. It's an illusion. That's where L&P's statement is making me shake my head as he's simply dishonest with his supporters.
