Sounds very lifelike and I could definitely see something like that happening, but for the fact that L&P has recognised he pushed his deliberate slowness too far and money is at stake. Look at how quick translation, which in earlier updates crawled along much slower than a snail, is currently going.

Yo, so, I pay a fair amount of attention to tags listed for games such as "vaginal sex," "incest," etc., and I'm just now noticing that this one is labeled with the "spanking" tag. I remember playing through this game a few times without ever seeing that fetish in-game. So, has anyone found a reason as to why that one's listed here? Is there some scene I missed?

When I say that this developer's arrogance has no limits, people think it's bad. Now he's comparing himself to big game companies, he's thinking he's one of the biggest producers now, I think what he's using must be expired.

I assume the good content is supposed to take place in our heads instead of the screens on whatever devices we're using.
The content L&P is talking about is atleast a decade away, if not more. All we know is that there are supposedly sex scenes with "important characters" from PD16 (I believe it was) onward. Well, not that I expect any of this to happen if he keeps getting slower and slower anyway, so... I guess people are supposed to support this project for imaginary content. Now isn't that something!

What i think he means (or hope so) is that if even big companies that have hundreds of workers, and millions of dollars, can go trough out the same issues, and end up failling massively for releasing the game sooner that it was suppoused to, then it makes sense to think that the same issues can happen to him, which is just probably just a couple of guys
What i dont like about his attitude ( judging by the screenshots that had been posted in this thread that i have no way of knowing if the they are real or not, or if those screenshots represent a general concensus among his patreons ) is that he is to stubborn and doesnt seems like is willing to drop the animations, he could said something along the lines like: " This is the first time that we are doing this kind of animation so it has taken longer that i had originally scheduled, but he have learn in this time and are confident that in the future the animations will keep improving, aswell as the time it takes to make them, but as you are my Patreons i will leave it up to you, if after playing the updtate 1.55 patreons reach a concensus that the animation are not worth doing then i'm willoing to drop them, and continue just with the traditional renders"
Also that he doesnt accepts that theres something to be improved about the development procces and his organization, however he did said that he is going to look for another people so hopefully that will improve things,

It is going fast because v0.155 was already translated a long time back. Hence why you got the 4×100 for v0.155 back then.I wonder how the translation is so quickly now
The Ellie Dylan update is small. Expected around 200 renders. He took close to 3 weeks for v0.130 with 994 renders. He hasn't gotten fast, the update is just too small.

So just because a dev is slow he must tell you everything. From who he works with to who he talks to. What kind of logic are you trying to present. He still has the right to withhold a piece of information a nd secondly this assistant is not a robot. That guy also can speak and decide for himself. If he wants recognition he will come out himself. He is not some tragic oppressed man that needs a bunch of internet strangers to ask L&P to give him credit.

Oh man, if we had a dollar for every time we has said that we could probably buy a couple of gallons of gas!
There's really no reason to believe that he's going to build a team. Even IF he actually hired an animator for this update, L&P has made excuses for years about why he can't hire anyone- and then has promised that he'll look into it. At no point has he ever formally introduced a team, and since he supposedly hired the animator the delay has only gotten worse.
Until he announces a team and gives actual names of real people, there's no reason to think that he'll ever pursue this option.
