Rendering a scene takes quite a while, depending on your hardware. I think for me one scene took 5 - 10 min.
Now don't forget that first you have to create the scene (placing the characters in the world, dressing them up and the background world itself as well.
Which is sorta the problem for those hoping for a Christmas day release, as it can take a few days after P&T hits 100% before the game can actually be released due to final testing.
Perhaps L&P can have a great next 3 days of P&T and get to 100% by Sunday. Add on a few days and release could happen by Christmas. That said, the fact L&P hasn't announced a formal release window yet tells me the release is not close. Perhaps he will surprise us.
