... a guy like L&P would probably be really tough to work with...
I was thinking about this recently and wanted to chime in with my whole-hearted agreement.
Nothing against L&P, but his method of working would make editing and/or proofreading for this game very frustrating.
Last year when he put up that post asking for expressions of interest for a Proofreader I emailed him to apply, and I applied seriously; gave my real name, references and relevant work history, everything - didn't get a reply since he didn't end up hiring anybody, but now I'm kind of glad I didn't hear back.
With what we know about his writing process - you'd either get the script in little paragraph sized pieces days apart, which would be frustratingly disjointed. Or you'd get nothing for 5 months then suddenly an email with the whole update script and a message saying "I can't start coding until you get this back to me, so make it fast please
", which would be panic inducing.
Plus, editing the script after the corresponding renders have already been made (and slaved over) would just result in arguments:
Hypothetical Editor: This whole exchange here - where Character A asks a question then Character B answers - can be removed because both characters say basically the same things in this passage four paragraphs earlier.
Hypothetical L&P: Well, I already spent four or five hours creating the renders for that exchange, plus another hour cleaning up those renders in photoshop, so...
