Some members here don't like Sam. Some members do. That's why I say it's personal preference whether you play the Sam route or not. In my playthrough I generally stop the playing the Sam options at the basketball game.
Some members don't play the Ellie or Patricia routes. And for those members I'd recommend different choices, because there are some options like what Sophia does when watching porn in the living room that can be played differently.
And the decision on day 18 to go with either the Alyssa event or Ellie/Julia event is one of entirely personal preference. Both have their enjoyable moments, their advantages and their disadvantages.
