"The animations we're working on are supposed to be of higher quality and not such you see in other games of this kind" lp said, man this mofo is delusional just like putin is, he really is broken from reality... i mean look at these devs from Savior game this is a quote from their last patreon post...
"Usually, 60 frame animation takes 1 or 2 days to render."
So these guys are doing 60fps animations and here comes this wannabe dev with his 24 fps animations to tell us that is something unseen, geez what a delusional prick...
At least wait till the animations are realised before calling him a prick.
1. he said "supposed", which tells you he isn't referring all animations or all other games.
2. Not all animations are born equal. Most has characters moving like robots while some has more natural movements. Most has minimal background, while some has realistic background. Some has glitches, some not etc. But the most time consuming feature is the duration of 1 iteration of the animation loop. Most games has animations which are 1-2 seconds loops. We haven't seen L&P's new animations yet, they may be 1-2 short crappy animations, but more likely they will be much better.
2. The game you were referring in your post "Savior" looks interesting and I will definitely give it a try, so for now I don't know what kind of animations it has. They may be great, long and impressive, and they may be not. When it's dev says 60fps animations takes 1-2 days to render you can't deduce nothing from it to the animations L&P is about to publish, because you and everyone else here still don't know how good/bad, long/short (etc...) they are. Also, when Savior's dev says "rendering" do you know exactly what it means? Does it mean only for the rendering process? Does it mean for the whole process (creation&rendering&post processing). Does he use stock animations? I guess you don't know either, but if you have time and can ask him - that could be very interesting, and maybe, once L&P's animations are out it can be a good basis for comparison.
P.S. Without animations, Savior's game dev has an output of less than 3.5 renders per day (2800/(27*30)). 58%-70% of L&P's renders output per day. But it has animations, about 100 in 27 months since it first been published, so about 3.5-4 animations within a month. Acording to L&P's Patreon, this update should have 361 renders and ~12 animations (9-10 24fps animations and 5 10fps).
According to Purple Fellas' (Savior's dev) numbers, it should take between 97-105 days (97 days for renders and 3-3.5 months for animations). Considering it's the first time L&P is doing real animations, I'd say it's quite reasonable, and most likely will improve as time progresses.
