We will likely get a small 4 page description from L&P built into the story so that we can be educated on classic hairstyles. Will it be Claire who is going to bring us all up to speed on the current styles and fashions, with descriptive outlines of new hair care products and techniques? Just a little edumacation for the masses. I spelled that wrong on purpose. I'm really looking forward to it already.
Ok, now that the dust has settled, let's try to unpack what happened in this v0.175. ( /!\ warning, it's another long post... /!\ )
Wow, what a... release!
As it was announced, it has been a quite large event in terms of renders, 429, with two animations. And it is not over yet, we will see the resolution of the cliffhanger in the next one, along with the scheduled visit to Claire's salon.
And I think we can say it was also a big event story-wise. Certainly a turning point for Sam's route and more generally for the story so far.
Kudos!
We actually did a pretty decent job in anticipating many things that happened in the event, especially thanks to the unusual number of teasers.
Even if the order of the teasers was a little different than the actual development of the story, we had many things figured out:
the flashback serving to explain Sam's long dated fetish and attraction to Sophia
the interruptions, we speculate that there would be the usual interruption, except that this time they didn't interrupt the flow and, on the contrary, made things even hotter, especially Amber's. All the three other Robinsons were at home and all three, at different times, interrupted, with Julia being the last one and we still don't know how that will play out.
the "name game" , Sam asks if he is now allowed to call her Sophia but obviously "Mrs. Parker" has a much higher "turn-on" effect for the eroticism of the scenes.
the failed tentative of Sophia to deflect Sam's attention towards Ellie.
the "secret girlfriend" deal even if we didn't go as far as it went.
the possibility that someone might be seeing the scene from the Parker's house, it has been mentioned twice in Sophia's thoughts, but more on that later.
So, good job everybody! (well, it is also true that we produce theories and speculations like there's no tomorrow )
Only one choice
The event can only be accessed if Sophia hid Sam in the hot-tub (variable day19_Sophia_hid_Sam_in_hot_tub). Moreover, during the event, only if Sophia didn't have sex with Liam the casino night (day16_Sophia_had_sex_with_Liam) or in the office (day19_Sophia_had_sex_with_Liam_at_his_workplace), the event can continue with Sophia giving in and helping Sam to undress her while they are kissing the first time.
The first choice is a bit surprising, mostly for the continuity of the story. While it makes sense that only the riskiest option in the hot-tub makes things progress further, the other two options could have been at least taken into account just to have the talk and end the event as it happens e.g. with Liam's conditions. We don't know if in the other two cases there will ever be a talk just to cut the relationship, but at the moment it feels incomplete.
Also, throughout the event, the fact he went to pick up Ellie at the beach is never mentioned, not even when Sophia tried to set him up with her.
Maybe, the short event in the morning of the next PD 14 **could** be about that: "breaking up" with him (only for the remaining two choices) and eventually trying to set him up with Ellie.
Finally, since the lack of sex is used for explaining at least in part Sophia's actions, probably day18_Sophia_Liam_had_sex_on_day18 should also be added to those conditions. That is probably an oversight.
Only two outcomes
The event is pretty linear with 17 choices for the player to make that overall award 20 points, both for filthy and sam. Whenever a GW choice is taken, the event ends more or less the same way, with a cello lesson and a visit to the kitchen to talk with Amber (no renders for this).
There are only two variables set,
day20_Sophia_learns_cello_for_her_parents is activated if she agrees to the "secret girlfriend" deal
day20_Sophia_will_amaze_her_parents is activated only if she decides to take the panties off for the drawing.
The last one seems to be the last important decision for the event, as any successive choices either are simple player preferences (who takes the panties off) or only award different points (the raunchy talk, FW or GW points). But neither prevents Julia from barging in.
Sophia
I think it is safe to say that it was a turning point for Sophia as a character. For the first time, she went way past the teasing, she took the initiative and abandoned herself to her desire. Some said even too much with the drawing part or too sudden or rushed in the way it has been presented. In the end, the classic tropes have been used to explain her feelings, from blaming it on the wine for the hot tub to being neglected by her husband, feeling guilty for cheating to only go back at it immediately.
We had another two instances of the classic lip-biting moments, one when Sam was playing with her breasts
and one during the cello lesson
It appears she has some unresolved (minor) issues with her parents when it comes to her choices about music education in her younger years. This is another classic trope, probably only functional to the Sam path (motivation for learning the cello etc) but let's see when we will meet them if there might be more to it that can be used in other story-lines.
Sam
As anticipated, Sam tried to protest his love ending up with a secret girlfriend proposal. Similarly to Sophia, the classic trope of the young lover rocking the world of the neglected wife has been used, maybe a bit too farther considering his declared inexperience. While we knew his artsy side when it comes to music and poetry, the fact he was also a great sketcher came a bit out of the blue and felt a little bit rushed or too much for a teenager.
Interestingly, one of the leitmotiv of the event was his "confessions". He made 3 confessions
he clumsily confessed to be in love with Sophia when she tried to draw the line
Just for the fun of it, I fed the whole text of the event to this

that has some semantic process (not just word frequency) and here is the result.
It's interesting the choices of words that have been highlighted.
Among these, the use of "best friend's son" and "married" is quite frequent, used both to justify the need for a line to be drawn (at the beginning) and as a further turn-on during the spicy moments.
We got quite a few references to literature, Goethe's "The Sorrows of Young Werther" used by Sam to explain unrequited love, and Nietzsche's "The Birth of Tragedy" to "lure" Sophia into posing nude. During the painting scene, we also got what **seemed** almost a personal rant of the author towards contemporary art.
During the development, L&P said he was trying to merge two potential scenes. It's difficult to tell what he was referring to. One possibility could be the cello lesson and the art drawing, as they were two distinct moments and even the transition between them felt a bit strange or rushed.
Python:
s "Sam... no, don't. We shouldn't do that. We wanted to practice the cello!"sa "Oh, I think you already made good progress for today."
s "Do you really think so?"
sa "Don't you notice?"
s "Well yes. But time's short. My parents are already coming very soon."
sa "Oh you can do it, don't worry. We'll practice more intensively tomorrow."
s "Anyway."
"Sam suddenly got up and inspected Sophia thoughtfully."
s "What?"
"You just look so stunningly beautiful with the instrument. I'd like to draw you like this."
There is only one reference to other events outside Sam's route. During the drawing session, Sophia didn't miss cracking half a joke about being already in that situation for the 3rd task.
Python:
a "Seriously, Mrs. Parker. I can paint very well, and when I see you like this, I imagine your naked body with the body of the cello forming a symbiosis and allegory of the embodiment of perfect beauty."
sa "Like an allegory on the Apollonian, after Nietzsche's 'The Birth of Tragedy from the Spirit of Music'."
sa "It's meant to reflect desire, daydreaming, and the forbidden."
sa "Emphasize the perfection of the female body when your naked body hugs the perfect instrument."
s "Damn, you're trying really hard and coming up with a really elaborate way to see me completely naked *ha-ha*!"
sa "Just as an artistic expression."
if day18_Sophia_fulfilled_Aidens_3rd_task:
s "Yeah, I've heard that excuse before somewhere *smirk*."
else:
s "Oooh, why didn't you say so sooner *smirk*?"
Maybe an inner thought about what Neil did to her during the football match (if it was the case) could have been added when she rolled her eyes at Neil's crass comment in the "behind the door" moment.
What's next?
For the first time, we got a cliffhanger at the end of the event. It will be resolved in the next update along with the scheduled event.
And, obviously, the cliffhanger already sparked many speculations. While Sam is drawing Sophia completely naked (no panties) we see Julia about to barge in, apparently angry with Sam for something disgusting he did or left somewhere ("That's so gross! How many times..."). What will happen next, do they get caught?
A nothing burger
Like in many movies and TV series, it could be just a way to get some tension spilling over in the next event, which we know will be milder. Many possibilities here, from Julia getting called or stopped by Amber for some reason, Sophia hiding behind the bed , the cello , the curtains, more difficult running behind the door as she did for Neil. Possibly, she needs to also hide her clothes that are still on the bed.
Getting caught
If Julia catches them, well the plot will thicken for sure. Considering what happened already between Julia and Sophia, she might be surprised at first and then promise to keep it for herself. Probably for future scenes with her (not in a blackmail way, though). But there could be instead some drama going on. Before Sophia has the choice to agree to pose for Sam there is something that in hindsight could be interpreted as a sort of warning for what could come.
And there is also a speculation that there might be an early "Game over" if Sophia decides to pose without panties. In that case, the day20_Sophia_will_amaze_her_parents variable can be a red-herring to avoid spoiling the end of the event (he usually does not name variables with future events).
Choices
As a nuance between the previous two, there could be a similar ending as the hot-tub event, with multiple choices that may lead to one of the different hypotheses explained above.
In any case, be aware that there is an interesting high-stake bet going on in the off-topic thread
Another "mystery" hanging over this update is the... windows. It was mentioned twice that someone from the Parker's house could see what happens in Sam's room. First time when they start to kiss and she removes her bra
Python:
"It occurred to her that one could see Sam's room from her house."
"But her kids weren't at home and her husband would come later anyway."
and later on during the drawing, if she removes the panties and engages in the raunchy conversation
and then during the raunchy conversation
Python:
"The raunchy conversation eased the situation a bit. The ice was now broken and Sophia felt more and more comfortable in her role."
"Her married life had become so boring that this exciting experience was almost welcomed."
"It was like a drug that Sophia gratefully swallowed and simply dived into an erotic, beautiful dream world, beyond all the problems of everyday life."
"The fact that she could be seen through the window of her house was almost forgotten."
This could be just acknowledging the situation and/or even a way to further boost the eroticism with the risk of being caught etc.
But, obviously, it also leaves the door (or the window..) open to the possibility of someone from the Parkers actually witnessing the scene. Mentioning twice seems like a Chekhov gun.
And indeed there are already speculations about the curtains of Sophia's room that have moved in between scenes that might suggest that. As well as the hunt for the peeping tom at the Parker's window. Dylan? Ellie? Liam? Sophia's parents, arrived earlier and getting completely amazed, certainly not by her daughter's cello skills? And, in case, how this information will be used? And Sophia will be aware of this in the resolution of the cliffhanger? E.g. if she hides behind the curtains of Sam's windows, will she notice the other person in her house? Material for a lot of drama to come.
In terms of future events, we learned that Sophia's parents will come on Tuesday PD 17, where there could be the cello "concert" to "amaze" them, as there is also one Sam's event scheduled. Other than that, we don't yet know how long they are going to stay, where etc.
As for Sam/Sophia, we have hints in the dialogues that there will be another lesson tomorrow (PD 14) and there are talks about moving the lesson to Sophia's. But this will be probably confirmed in the next update as the cliffhanger resolves.
Python:
sa "One just has to plan it a little better. It might be better if we moved cello lessons to you at home when you're alone."
s "*Sigh.* I don't know, Sam. "
s "Maybe."
s "It's all so confusing."
and
Python:
s "Well yes. But time's short. My parents are already coming very soon."
sa "Oh you can do it, don't worry. We'll practice more intensively tomorrow."
As a reminder, in the (provisional) schedule for PD 14, there is a short Sam event in the morning. Still too early to say if it is another (short) cello lesson, a teasing/show from the window like it has been speculated or even a different branch as explained earlier.
Without the full resolution of the cliffhanger is difficult to tell, but clearly the question is now how this "secret girlfriend" relationship will continue further. Will be a natural progression and escalation or now that a milestone has been reached, there will be an(other) attempt to back it down again? For example, assuming that they don't get caught, the scare will be too intense for Sophia and she will insist on drawing the line (e.g. the short event will be an almost uneventful cello lesson) only to definitely escalate further later on next week as a situation presents itself?
New features
This release comes with some new neat features thanks to Bibifoc 's work:
there is a new way to start a new game without using the old saves from Part1 that is based on answering questions about the different routes and paths for each character.
the screen with the stats for each character (the mobile phone that can be activated by clicking on the heart at the top right of the screen) now shows all the possible stats and enable the player to cheat by adjusting the values.
at the end of the update, you now may have noticed that there is a screen that explains that if you didn't get content is because you might not be on the particular route.
I'm here for Sophia-Dylan content, anyone know if Dylan gets to move a step forward with his relationship with Sophia? My apologies if this was already answered.
Now the years of Dylan will start for the next comming updates almost everything is about Sophia and Dylan. It begins after the next update with a 2 Part Event. Then it will continue on the next PD with only a small encounter of SAM the tutoring Job and the Museum guys date in the evening. Everything else is Sylan and mostly Sophia
I'm here for Sophia-Dylan content, anyone know if Dylan gets to move a step forward with his relationship with Sophia? My apologies if this was already answered.
Of course, I prefer the current hairstyle to any of the three proposed.
But if I have to choose between the three hairstyles, I discard the first one which is more "A Wife and a Granny".
I'll go with B and the second one starting from the left. The most similar to actual hair.
But if I look closely, I also like C, specifically the second one starting from the right. It would be a radical change, she would become a brunette, but she is also very beautiful and has a more aggressive and lustful appearance.
