The update was good, not great, just good. There was certainly a progress in Sophia/Dylan relationship, and just like always in this VN when we were about to get something good it was suddenly interrupted. I can understand why Liam is the least loveable character. I hope that this first part was just an intro for the second part where we'll get really hot scenes. One thing that bugs me is that an average duration of american football game is around 3h, so they spend 2.5-3 hours in that tub which is crazy. And that Sophie/Dylan scene could not last longer than half an hour to 1 hour tops.

Until the parts are merged into one the answer is Yes and No. If you want to miss out on how everything got the point in at the start of Part 2 you can start a new game in Part 2 it will ask you to choose what happens in Part 1.
