This is why people say that reality in games does not mean the real reality that is boring and obvious.
And that's also why I say reality is important for persuasiveness.
Reality starts from the background initially set by the developer.
But now, the developer is breaking the background he initially set up.
That is why it is said that consistency, validity and reality are broken.
As for what is realistic, you may or may not agree with me.
However, reading your post, I felt a little relieved of my cramped feeling with arsenic.
I hope there will be a discussion about what is realistic.
Rather than the ridiculous statement that reality should be ignored.
I just took the trouble to read through the L&P About page for AWAM. Here the word "realistic" is used exactly two times , but each time in a specific context:
"... ambitiously staged,
realistic, high-quality 1080p images ... I even pay attention to the right sun position and light, according to the time of day and much more ..."
This is clearly only about the visual quality of the game and not about the story itself.
" ... slowly developing story and gradual character development of the protagonist, to create an arc of suspense (actually all characters have their own personality)! Showing too much skin right at the beginning ruins the suspense. In my game everything is adapted to the story! And there will still be a lot of sizzling scenes! ... And all this is set in a big,
realistic world, where the protagonist will eat, sleep, take showers, work etc., all accompanied by a realistic daily rhythm. ..."
This is about explaining the slow burn and then talking about the characters going through actual days in the game. It's basically explaining why L&P is so fixated on packing so many events into each game day. The point here is that the individual characters are more than mere shells, i.e. they eat, practice bodily hygiene, go to work, etc.
Nowhere in this text does it say that the story itself is, or should be, realistic. From my point of view, this makes sense, because you can't write a fun to play incest story in a realistic way.
BTW, I found something else that affects all those who are upset about L&P unexpectedly leaving decisions to Dylan. L&P seems to have planned this as a possible option from the beginning:
" ... Playing as a MILF just brings an approach wind into the adult game world! Furthermore I'm thinking about maybe switching the playable character to a male one a few time later on and letting him make decisions! ... "
It's crazy to think how many people here have been crying about this as a supposed change in the plan. LOL.
It is time to remember that AWAM is only a porn game (L&P calls it a adult game). From the beginning, the story had many events that would never have worked in the real world. I have given a few examples that do not even fully cover all events. Nothing has changed, except that the game is slowly progressing in the slow burn and coming into the mid game. There will be a lot more real world unrealistic events coming up, we can all be sure of that. If you think that's not good, that's your problem, I think everyone who wants to play the story in AWAM to the end at some point should celebrate that something is finally happening. Especially since compared to other games here, AWAM is still a slow burn game.
