Except in Dylan's case because he was made "joint MC" several years ago. L&P has stated that Dylan's routes are to equal Sophia's & he'll ensure they're on a par. At the least Dylan is now the focus of fully half the game, (officially) & from my own POV, he's the actual real MC. I think the game is evolving as time goes on and the plot is always undergoing rewrites. The Aiden solution was a quick way to close that route; the school janitor route is a thing of the past; am guessing the 'maide' route is more or less dead... etc. Players are now following the adventures of a teenage virgin schoolboy. If he's to put an ahegao face on Sophia, c20 years or so from now, after giving her the orgasm of her life, (as per schoolboy wish fulfilment incest-driven porn), he's going to need to gain a lot of experience. That is, unless, "porn logic" comes into play yet again, as with Amber's HJ I hate to bring up reality, but I will. Dylan has access to porn and like most has explored it--pretty sure he has a lot of the basics covered. Dylan's only problem is lack of direct experience, but with Amber he was a quick learner. That means he's ready now. If the Dev had wanted an end for AWAM, it could have happened in the hot tub. Dylan's load, which could have filled a bucket, (as though he'd never masturbated, when we know he has), could have been injected straight into Sophia. It wouldn't have been a problem in the world of porn logic. Sophia could have washed it out, instead of washing it off, or she could have carried a baby to term & pretended it was Liam's, while hoping for zero genetic defects, which of course, wouldn't have occurred, i.e. porn logic again. Ok time for my inner science nerd to come out. Your chances for defects are higher in incest relations statistically. It takes generations for them to add up to end up with a King Tut from ancient Egyptian fame. Whole Egyptian dynasties lasted many generations before inbreeding caused defects like the Hapsburg dynasty. Now the full cockold of Liam-- Sophia and Liam did talk about having another child, so you are onto something there. I don't think anyone has asked the Developer if "pregnancy" is the end game. And if it is, it's just as likely we are left guessing who is the father unless the Developer toward the end creates multiple endings.
We've already had the cliched, "How can this be wrong, when it feels so right?" question in the script & so can probably expect the tired old line, spoken of incestuous sons in 3D games, "So much bigger than his father." It's an H-game and their you do have porn logic. But realistically it happens where a girl who doesn't want to become pregnant still allows it to happen; guess you can chalk that one up to human weakness.
In the meantime, Dylan fans are big winners & he's still included in character popularity polls, despite being the MC. Forget the fact that many fans played AWAM to see what happened to Sophia, as promised. [They can lump it & forget it, at least for long periods]. Dylan is "where it's at." If L&P had been astute & faster he could have created a separate game for Dylan & made twice the money. Ah! I am so glad you brought up the business model. Because you are right! But another approach is to have L&P 2.0 where all the other routes are concluded. The advantage of that business decision the fan base is still involved with the original characters and story line.
Never mind, there's always the museum visit at the end of PD14, due probably in 2026 at the current rate, because it's obvious what Sophia needs on her corruption path & in her life, ... more teenagers. Jason & Haru, welcome back? Why bother with them after all these years? I'm guessing that many fans won't remember them. Why not write them out now, as has happened with several more important characters? Everybody knows that something needs to be done to speed this up. Yes time is an issue and with its passage things fade into memory. However, we don't have enough Patarica interaction to work with to carry on that Sophia/Patrica relationship. Sadly, many of the characters are blurred out because of the time and energy to work with every other route. That is a work product issue. And that puts L&P in a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. Part of the game's success is its entire story line and cast of characters. Without them L&P is just another 3D H-game, but with them it takes a lot of time. Already we are seeing an evolution in the game where routes are not being followed because of the size of the project.
