I don't think anyone has ever questioned that part, Bud.
Yes, you're right!
But I mean that the fact that the artist has created such an attractive image and a very interesting game is quite a weighty argument to respectfully express criticism without allowing yourself to be too rude.
And by the way, I got the impression that rudeness has become less! I hope this trend will continue.

I return to this L&P post, again and again!
I had to read a lot of different criticism of L&P on this forum, I have never ignored anyone, I have not used this function of the site.
But I think everyone, even those who constantly express harsh criticism, will agree that L&P has created a very sexy image and his skill should be given credit.
When Sophia is dressed, there is a burning desire to undress her!

Come on L&P, speed up development, you've done a lot already, but you still have so much to tell and show us! It takes too long to do this, unless of course you change the way you work to speed up development.

 It would now be time for Sophia to have sex with someone else. She sees and feels cocks all the time, young and old. She worries about sexual acts all the time. Women are also interested. It's not about her having this super awesome and fantastic sex night and then being a slut with everyone in town, it's about having an experience to realize where she is in life with her body, her feelings and with her husband.

I don't know how L&P wrote the Don Morello event, but if I were writing it, I would compel Sophia to explain in detail all of the things that Aiden has done to her to make her come to Morello for help. Something like this:

Sophia: "...And for the second task, Aiden first made me come to the back of the classroom and lift the front of my dress and show my panties to him and his friend Andre. Oh, Don Morello, it was so humiliating, standing there with my dress up above my waist and these two grinning boys with their faces so close to my vagina covered only by my flimsy panties, while they made comments about my sexy blue panties!"

Morello: "Blue panties, you said. Please continue."

Sophia: "Then he made me sit on my desk at the front of my entire class, and spread my legs wide until all of my students could see my panties up my dress."

Morello: "The blue panties."

Sophia: "Yes. I could only sit there looking out at all of my wide-eyed students staring up my skirt!"

Morello: "And now tell me about the third task."

Sophia: "I was forced to be a model in an art class of teen boys. I had to wear a very revealing costume, and Aiden posed with me. First he dangled his large bare penis right in my face! Then he pulled down my top and grabbed my bare breast and held it for the longest time as we posed for the students. His right hand held my breast firmly as his left hand rested on my bare belly just above my vagina and my partially exposed strip of pubic hair; and I could feel his hard penis pressing into my bare back."

Morello: "That sounds so humiliating. Was it painful?"

Sophia: "Only because I was so close to having an orgasm in public that I had to bite my lip to make it go away. But he did pinch my nipple, which hurt a little, and made me squeal."
And Sophia would be humiliated again only this time by Morello.Sophi. She came for help, not for more trouble

Is she asking for his help or rehearsing a pay per view videochat & doing some preliminary audience reaction research?!

Over the last couple of years I've written more than I ever intended on the subject of the Aiden blackmail route. Now I'm about to do so again but having earlier participated in the foregoing discussion & then reading the follow-on, there are various points to consider from many fans. I apologise for not naming everyone in this post but I got back to my PC to find 28 posts to peruse & I would have to keep referring back & forth to do them full justice & sometimes I receive an overall impression & then address key elements, if you see what I mean. It's shorter that way, believe me.

First, I am in the position of approving the twist's removal. After initial doubts I got off the fence, because to include it would have made Dylan not just a needy, scheming, manipulative, misguided & confused person but IMO, a completely moronic idiot. I'm no Dylan fan but even I didn't want that for him. Now from my POV & playthrough, he's on his way to normal teen life with a new girlfriend. [Sophia's "mid-life crisis" did even Dylan ever believe that in the twist? What teenager ever thinks, (or has even heard), about a mid-life crisis anyway? Answer=not very many. Next he would have been thinking about his pension arrangements!?]

Then, without the twist, there's the crucial issue of the original reason that Dylan was picked on by Aiden & co. Again in the playthrough I use, there's no question that this happened & for a realistic reason. There could have been a case for more storytelling around the incident in the early stages of Aiden's plan. On the other hand, it is plausible to me that the school did in relation to Dylan, Zac & the original victims they helped, what is often done in RL regarding bullying, i.e. any of the following......the bare minimum,/ referred to the school's anti-bullying policy, (hereinafter known as 'fine words'),/ blamed the victim(s),/ promised further action after due consideration,/ denied anything serious had occurred,/ denied anything had happened at all,/ said that all details were 'confidential', then did nothing,/ had a talk with the victim's but not the perpetrator's parents or guardians, then did nothing,/ OR, that old standby.....listened to a parent's complaint with convincing, even genuine, empathy....then did nothing.

Finally there's the question of what the blackmail may become "later". It would appear that, despite everything, there's going to be some other kind of "twist" for those, like me, who will continue to play this route, for as long as it lasts that is. Although I'm 95% convinced the tasks will never reach double figures, I deplore the whole concept of it reaching a point where it becomes a mutually pleasurable, tacitly agreed, consensual sex-game. That's not blackmail. AWAM is already quite possibly the most vanilla corruption game out there & IMO, would continue to be so, even if the tasks ratcheted up several notches. Sophia enjoying some aspects of the tasks is not the same. She does this, despite herself & that's how it should stay, IMO.

Bennett has been sidelined. Nobody really thinks he's going to get anywhere meaningful, surely? Now we're seriously facing the prospect of both blackmail routes being terminated, even the possibility of Aiden just being another misunderstood "hard case". Yes, of course, somewhere deep down he probably craves affection but as far as I'm concerned, he can keep that to himself. Who will be the villain after he's 'redeemed'?

All told, I may appear to be in a minority but combined with an atrocious update schedule, "I don't like where this is going".
Hi. Ref your 4th paragraph and concerns of AWAM/blackmail becoming a consensual sex game.

Well of course AWAM is already a sex game, though IMO not a porn game despite claims by many. Nothing wrong with that, and way better for it.
From the start it set out to be a game about sex, specifically about the life, desires and sexual liberation of married woman called Sophia Parker. The loosely worded "corruption" implies she will finish as a slut which I believe most people don't want at all.
From your comments it's clear you strongly favour the concept of blackmail as a route to achieve this or at least you appear to express this as a personal preference. Criticisms of which have come from those tired of seeing blackmail across the board as a sex motivator from countless other games, so might rank it over-used and unimaginative.

Personally I don't do similar games, AWAM is really the only one I have any interest in, so the Aiden blackmail thing for me is quite acceptable as a mover and motivator within the context of this story. I'd certainly hate to see it removed, not that I believe it will, and that all 12 tasks will be completed, probably as the finale to this game.
But meanwhile, Sophia is already well on the way to finding pleasure from being manipulated in this way from Aiden the school bully, so I don't quite understand your objection, as you can't change it now. I see this switch as a natural progression, exactly as L&P intended.

So, as far as Sophia discovering and re-discovering her inner desires by way of the deal struck, Aiden should be congratulated. It is almost like the two are having an affair, only an exclusive, complicit and mutually pleasurable one without Sophia ever admitting it. A thrilling affair some married individuals might inwardly desire which can, and quite often actually does save rather than destroy marriages nearing the end of their shelf-life.

I don't think you have anything to worry about L&P pulling the plug on blackmail, but even he knows that setting increasingly impossible demands for Sophia might become either impractical or unrealistic, or worse still become tiresome to many following this thread. One thing L&P has always been wary of is rarely repeating scenarios or dramas as if flogging a dead horse. We might not always like it, but he's always kept followers guessing, stopped vital threads becoming stale, as any good writer should.

As for the dangers of Sophia becoming mutually sexually complicit with Aiden. As we know, that is already partly established. Fortunately for the pro-blackmailing lobby Sophia would never admit to it, so you are on perfectly safe ground.

When I started playing this game/VN it promised to be a story of a woman embarking on some extra-marital sexual adventures but with a level of realism unseen in the genre. So far, so good. After a time I began to perceive that the story was largely about incest, rather than extra-marital activity in the generally accepted sense of the term. Still, it had higher quality renders, (by a considerable margin at the time), than other games & the characters weren't puerile, (apart from the actual kids), as with so many populating the 3d render world. It seemed that there was an overall plan & that it could last 3-4 years, so I stuck with it. Above all, I was after an erotic story written by an adult for other adults.

Straightforward porn was a thing of the past for me. It wasn't that I'd become jaded but rather that I enjoyed a good story rather than 'shag everything that moves' trash. I feel the same about the cinema, preferring a decent script, good direction, high production values & proper acting, to the, "Well Mrs Parker, that's your sink fixed, let's fuck", variety of tosh. I will admit, however, that porn had become boring to me, probably because I read my first porn story in 1965. You could say that apart from changing fashions in clothes, it lacked novelty from my POV. 3d was a way of telling a story that I felt had never achieved anything like it's potential in the field of eroticism. AWAM was set fair to aim for that goal.

As it was a visual novel with a slow burn aura of pending eroticism, it fit the bill for me. As potential partners or sexual contacts were introduced, I found that I could either avoid the incest, or if necessary, just ignore it & move on. At this time, IMO, AWAM was a work of great promise. So what went wrong?

Well, not everything & with interesting characters, occasional good writing, excellent renders & a completely fanciable MC, combining beauty, brains & numerous talents from academia to sport via music, it's easy to see why I'm still here.
I have the same problem as everyone else when it comes to the update schedule, so I won't labour the point. We all get it but there's nothing we can do about it.

I suppose it could be said that I'm too picky when it comes to erotic literature, especially contemporary offerings. There are more plotlines, tropes, kinks & byways that I don't like than those I do. AWAM already had incest, which doesn't interest me but then more 'issues' came along, as L&P appeared intent on covering a wide range of stock scenarios. One element that I did appreciate, however, was blackmail. Once introduced it attracted a tirade of criticism, white-knighting & righteous, or self-righteous indignation. I began to defend its' inclusion. There are many posts discussing various aspects of it, by me & others, so again, I won't repeat myself.

Blackmail started to get results in driving the story forward & from my POV introduced a power surge of erotic scenes. I certainly don't want Sophia corrupted to the point of becoming a slut but nor do I want to see her & Aiden running down a hillside, holding hands & laughing. There's a fine balance to be struck, which I believe has so far been admirably achieved but may be under threat now. Evidence for what I consider 'anti-sophistication' is mounting, more than likely driven by the age profile of L&Ps paying audience. I don't want introspection along the lines of, 'this is so wrong but it feels so good....what am I doing?" etc., from Sophia. That's not how people think, except in porn stories. I didn't want Sophia to suddenly change her physical appearance to appeal to lovers of stereotypes & who still think that if a mature woman's breasts are large enough & you squeeze them, or apply a machine, you'll get milk.

Blackmail's not just there to ease the path to corruption, it's also there to fulfil the fantasy of having a degree of control over a gorgeous, sophisticated woman. That's one aspect I enjoy & which looks set to disappear in a miasma of mutual consent. I don't care if other fans are revolted by that, because I can't be kink-shamed & indeed refuse to be disapproved of by lovers of incest, shota etc., which arguably are just as over-used & unimaginative as blackmail. I'm very tolerant of other's tastes & respect them but that's not how blackmail is necessarily dealt with in this thread. What influence the chorus of disapproval has had on the VN we'll never know but I have my suspicions.

Finishing on a positive note, I admire your optimism in believing that the tasks will be completed. I don't think they will be, making the whole issue academic but I certainly hope to be proved wrong.

But the reasons why Sophia is being blackmailed. It is hopeless and stupid. Dev should come up with something more original.
And then the dev himself stated that what he had invented about Sophi's blackmailer was hopeless, stupid and illogical.
Suitable for trash .I would like a yakuza member to blackmail my mother, because I don't want to dress sexy anymore, because my mother has a midlife crisis. This is such a childish assumption

That ship has sailed, unless Aiden is able to come up with more. I put forward the idea that Sophia looked at the confidential records to discover more about Bennett, in order to counter his activities & was filmed or otherwise discovered by Aiden. This could have added to his power & tied the two blackmail stories together, as well as being ironic. Aiden would have had the ability to damage her career or even get her dismissed.

L&P is never going to follow the suggestions of pirates, even if they're well-meant.

It depends on your definition of slut, but I bet most people want it. It doesn't mean street whore. For many, a wife cheating on her husband is a slut. If yours were cheating on you, won't you call her a slut?
The term slut applied to women has different interpretations according to each country or culture, I will (regrettably) accept that because I prefer to retain a high opinion of women. Also conditioned by how various cultures genuinely regard and respect their own women, in addition to men on an individual basis.
For example, there are men who regard women with tattoos as sluts, even if they are monogamous. Ditto if they are engaged or married and seen talking or socialising with men, in some cases even being castigated as sluts merely for interacting with men of different culture, let alone forming relationships with them.

Where I come from slut is a derogatory term, and while realising AWAM is just a game fantasy I never believed it was L&P's intention to ultimately paint Sophia as a slut. Also, I am not sure you are correct in assuming most people want to attach this label to Sophia. Nor, with respect, will I get into personal deliberation regards who I may or may not be married to.

As you introduced the word cheating, that's another expression fully open to interpretation and different meaning, if one is sufficiently open minded.
For example, (and this applies to both sexes) is a married man cheating, or being disloyal to the marriage if he sleeps with another woman just one time, or is he cheating if he walks away leaving the wife, kids and responsibilities as many men (and women) do? What's more important, and what's more to do with temporarily bruising the other's ego or confining the other as merely a possession?

My culture not lying me about girls. Girls love sex, they love dangerous guys, they love sugar daddies.
