If I'm seeing this correctly, those lights are on the middle floor, in a part of the house we haven't seen. The only part of the middle floor we have seen is the guest room, but that's on the other side of the house.
Although if I recall correctly, there's meant to be a guest bathroom on that floor that wasn't working at the start of the game (that Ellie suggested should be Dylan's bathroom). So possibly Mr Harris stayed the night after drinking too much?

Great insight, but I'm not following your logic. Don't you think that if the light is on plus the fact that L&P wrote : "but..." Isn't more likely that they will go to the room? Maybe to avoid people getting in their way.

seemingly i don't think there will be any progression outside in the jacuzzi or swimming pool or another area outside, there is a risk that sophia is now aware of with the jacuzzi playthrough with sam. those lights on mean liam is most likely home and that makes anything outside very risky.
i think if sophia could risk roleplaying with sam and model for him in his bedroom with her room window and balcony being opposite sams bedroom window, i wonder if sophia will go to dylans bedroom and they will silently continue where they left off from part 1 dylan and sophia playthrough.
sophia is drunk and she has solidified she sees dylan more than a man, (i maybe completely wrong saying this) i believe dylan will surpass sam considerably and it will be more than roleplaying because they've already done that

Liam confirmed Mr Harris leaving when he was asking Sophia to open the bathroom door.
Sophia is naked under her dress. I assume Dylan has a new bathing suit for his mother.

We don't know if Sophia is naked under her dress and there is no cover in the backyard even the outdoor lounge can be seen by the neighbours

Harris was only a suggestion. As far as I'm aware we don't know Ellie's whereabouts for those not playing the bonus storyline. She could have invited a friend over.
Point is I believe it's the wrong floor to be a light in Sophia's bedroom.

Here's to wishful thinking on my part. If it is Liam or maybe Ellie in the hot tub, this could move to Dylan's room, like they moved the dinner date to the club.

Yes, you are right it's a bit counterintuitive.
Since I saw the booze, I was implicitly counting on the fact that they (or Sophia) could be already a bit tipsy from previous drinking at the nightclub/rooftop lounge and there is a clear complicity in their expressions as they are still walking arm to arm in the house. So they (Sophia) could again underestimate the risk even if someone is clearly in the house awake.
Whoever is there, he/she might not actually interrupt them at that precise moment, he/she could just be in the room. Maybe after a while the light goes off again and the coast is clear again. And that could be a decision Sophia has to make, abort as soon as they notice the light or wait a few minutes for the coast to be clear again. Obviously alcohol + the fun and excitement of the evening will be excuse for the poor judgement (like when she was naked in front of her house in the afternoon at Sam's).
Another variant could be that the person actually shows e.g. at the window and talk with them or one of them as the other hides, reassure him/her and then they continue once the person goes back inside. Again with a possible choice for Sophia to continue or not.

After it was suggested maybe the "But..." is regarding them walking to the hot tub then notice the light then choose to go to Dylans room.

I absolutely do not want to argue the realism.
I didn't cut the backstory, the not-so-innocent, the already been kissed, I just don't show it explicitly, I'm trying to keep the action in the present.
I didn't cut the condom talk either. It actually stays intact in the exact same place in the scene.
Ommitting? No much left to omit, really. I mean, he ate her pussy, fucked her in several different positions, she came and came. Maybe that's Ellie's biological father and Sophia is playing with the timeline, but that could be true with or without my rewrite.
Turning back to the reason I proposed the rewrite: I don't want AWAM to be told in flashback, especially Sophia's sex scenes. I want them in the present with the present cast.
