teasers are supposed to be free/lowest tier... generally teasers and trailers are released to attract people to buy a product...

No. The way these things work, you usually end up with lots of shit you don't use. For example I already have 5 sketches of the project I am working on right now. You just monetise these as a special tier and voila. Extra stuff just for the most dedicated supporters and everyone is happy.
After that is everyone's individual judgement if the asking price is justifiable for what you get.
