IMO, technology advances wont be an issue. The most important thing is the intriguing story. You can have a great erotic novel without even one picture. AWAM belongs to the extremely small number of games that I am able to follow the storyline. The main thing is that I can not imagine L&P spending his life doing renders of Sofia and Dylan. At one point the game will be abandoned living many many fans unsatisfied. My personal estimation is that we are not very far from that.
This is what I've said for a while now. Zero chance this VN is ever finished in a way that seems natural or satisfies those paying for it. Almost 100% chance it's outright abandoned and any non-abandonment ending will involve a hasty finish where Sophia goes from the ultimate cocktease to a mega-slut.
And this is true because it has to be based on his BS claims of a planned timeline and his schedule. It's a meme here but it's a meme because it's true: at his pace it cannot possibly end until 2030 or later.
Now, I'd contend that it's because there is no plan. He's making money and over fist so why rush it? That's what seems blatantly obvious to me and has for a while.
However, the why isn't what even matters and many here (myself included) have gotten caught up in that debate. The real point that needs to be stressed and highlighted is that even if he doesn't abandon it, the story literally cannot be finished in this decade. It will have a TRUE, NON-EXAGGERATED development cycle of over 15 years.
15 years for a Renpy VN. Actual AAA videogames don't take 15 years. So...put 2&2 together, guys. Take his personality, add in his atrocious development cycle and put 2&2 together.
It's a ...(rhymes with "SLAM"). How can anyone not see that at this point? That even if he doesn't just abandon it that it won't be done in this decade.
That timeframe + his awful personality = abandonment. He has no desire to finish it. He wants your money until you stop giving it...and then he'll abandon it.
