I think what gets to me sometimes (that I touched on before) is that I first started playing these type of games, I never felt I could empathise with males written in them - they just seemed like an entitled prick that for whatever reason got to sleep with all the women. Which got me started playing female protag games like this. And one of the things I found so refreshing when I discovered this game (and still a yardstick I use to decide whether a game is even worth downloading), is the choice of whether or not the entitled prick gets the girl.

Where I think this game has gone off the rails is that it starts by pretending to be all things to all people. While it's a pessimistic view, I'm pretty sure that all told, at the end of the day the only people that will end up sleeping with Sophia are going to be Liam, Ellie, Patricia, Sam and Dylan. I'm thinking in that order, based on what I've seen so far.

Which kinda implies that all the other characters like Aiden, Bennett, Janitor Clark, the movers, the subway thugs, Ava's boys, whoever, are only really there to give the impression of potential in order to drum up patronage. I mean, if we knew for certain that they never stood a chance with Sophia, would they be as popular as they are?

That said, I may just be bitter since many of the women that I might have wanted to have a chance with Sophia have ended up on the Dylan route, so not with the protagonist.

interesting point I don't know about the others but I've played some games before this one, and lets say almost all of them have disappointed me it get boring when the main character just go around f*** with everybody without say a word c'mon where is the fun on that, how about a little tease first something to make us feel interested to the other character before make love or f*** with them, of course somethimes it can be just a easy f*** but when it happens all the time it makes the game so boring to play.
The good thing about "A wife and mother" is that it plays with a lot of diferent fantasy "fetish" and it is not just about a sex scene, I don't think Sophia will end up sleeping with Dylan, Ellen or even her sister, maybe will be there scenes like where she just watch them make love with somebody else maybe I am wrong and she will I don't know, what I do thing is that some of the others characters have more chance with her like Sam or Aiden lets see.

The other characters are fillers. Their roles are just to corrupt Sophia enough so she will have sex with the more taboo options. Or in the case of both side-jobs, cheap fetish content. Because of course you have to have a few shota's and creepy old men in every FMC game.

But that leads into issues that have been discussed so much, that it's almost...boring? To even talk about it anymore. The game has too many characters. Too many routes. Too much side-content that distracts from the core group of characters, even to the point of being developed before they are, or blocking their content all together.

The story is slowly becoming more disjointed and lacking of consistency the further it goes. And is further compounded since Dylan, and to me Ellie, are also "MC's" of the game with their own routes, making things even harder to handle.

You could literally cut 75%, if not more, of the characters from the game and it'd be better. Dylan, Liam, Ellie, Sam + His mom, Pat. And I'll let Ellie keep 1 friend, not however many she has now, and Aiden simply to have a darker route in the game.

You know what would be perfect, I don't realy know what is L&P plans after this game but I would prefer if he finishe Sophia's story first then of course if he want, make a new game from zero with the same family characters but from another point of view like he is doing now with Dylan and Ellie, I think it would be less confuse and more interesting also easier to build since you have all the characters and everything made, for sure I would buy a game like that just to see from the other perspective.

Agree, I think he’d be much better off pursuing the central story line(s) of Sophia and push everything else into the background.

There is an issue with this, though: if you make Dylan’s story, for example, a separate VN altogether then it’s not much more than a very ordinary “teenage boy pursues all the girls in his orbit and tries to fuck them” kind of game, just with exceptionally good visuals.

My counter to that concern, however, is that if it’s such an ordinary storyline, why is it in AWAM in the first place? How does it set this VN apart? Are we supposed to shrug and think it’s a great milf-protagonist game with a disproportionately large amount of banal content?

the past 2 update are a joke. since the part1 choices doesn't even carry over to Part2 it should of been a fresh start. seems unnecessary to make a save transfer just for aiden or no aiden to start for part2.

I am sure he can make a fresh new game good as "AMAW" or better, but I tink for we who already follow and like the game would be nice work with the same characters only changing the protagonist following.
But wouldn't be bad if L&P one day decides to create a game totally from zero, if so it need to be in the same world where a normal familly move to another city and little by little start to get corrupted, to me this narrative is just perfect.

Any post that seems to be remotely close to violating the guidelines will most likely be deleted, including this post since it is Off-topic. And from what I know nobody has any control over any post except sometimes the moderators can be a little biased.

4 years ago I told a guy not to bad mouth others and reported his post but the only thing I got was a warning and my post was deleted. This happened in a thread that was not popular and had very few active participants. So it happens in most of the threads and not just AWAM.

Interesting take on an otherwise unexplained occurrence. It's possible, plausible even but I think there's more to it. You're talking to person who's been banned twice, (IMO for bugger all) & has raised tickets etc. I have, on occasion been involved in controversies & seen several commentary strands disappear. Every time this happened I understood why, even if I didn't agree with the reasons (& sometimes I did). Many posts were deleted owing to the catch-all "off-topic" designation, while others were the results of thread clean-ups, 'upstream' which got rid of all associated comments. I've read the rules, (more than once) & after 4+ years here, think I understand them well enough to avoid wilful infringements on my part, although concede that when it comes to AWAM there has been additional scrutiny because of some raging arguments, in which I was not a participant.

Whenever comments were deleted a reason was given BUT not this time when a number of comments from various fans simply vanished. What they had in common was the delivery of some home truths about development, timescale, etc. Were they unpalatable & if so, to whom? Now, it could be that in the few hours I was gone something else was posted & the result was 'the vanishing.' If so, it would have been nice to know why via a basic phrase or classification. None of the deleted comments I saw breached the rules. Was it an oversight? Possibly. I'll never know & nor will the other commentators.

So, time being precious & all that, I'll keep any comments I make to the "OFF-TOPIC" thread for the foreseeable future.
