Act 1 was of higher quality in the sense that L&P was able to provide content for pretty much every route due to much lower render count per event. I disagree when you say the game should revolve around Dylan/Ellie/Liam/Sophia just because it's titled "A Wife And Mother". When I started playing, I did it for Sophia's adventures outside of that. I was never a fan of the incest routes, and L&P was able to deliver content for everyone back in the day. Still somewhat slow, but atleast some progress was made.I have no idea why some people think that Act 1 was of higher quality than the Act 2. I certainly don't understand that at all. Rather, I think that Act 1 made a higher-quality impression mainly because so little happened. With so little progress, it's easier to overlook all the logical errors and inadequacies. But if you look closely, the first act is also full of nonsense (e.g. villains like Aiden, whose leverage over Sophia is ridiculously small, but whom she still finds intimidating enough for these silly tasks, etc.). Also, the almost pathologically exaggerated fear of nudity of Sophia, the events with the other teacher, the mafia story, etc. are anything but realistic.
Something that some people here need to understand is that even AWAM is just a porn game. It already was in Act 1, even though almost nothing happened there. No idea why some people expected a masterpiece here, but the fault lies with yourselves. At some point, the game had to pick up speed, and what could initially be overlooked in Act 1 with good will quickly becomes obvious. What bothers me most, though, is not that Sophia is actually doing something for a change (as in all porn games) instead of just brooding in self-doubt, but how much she has to go through because of the far too many side stories. It's just too much when Sophia has sexual encounters with practically everyone around her. It also takes away from the main story with Sophia in her role as "a wife and mother". What the hell does this old gentleman have to do with Ellie, Dylan or Liam? This side story is useless and should have been deleted. In particular, because AWAM does not need yet another poorly written blackmail story.
I was interested to see where Sophia would end up with characters like the school's headmaster, janitor Clark, Bennett, the neighbors, Liam's boss, the Morellos, partying with her sister..and more. All of those routes could have eventually turned Sophia into a corrupted version of herself cheating on her husband and succumbing to San Alejo's temptations one way or another. There was zero need for Dylan/Ellie incest or whatever if you didn't want it to be part of your game.
Now, with time, L&P turned his game into an absolute dumpster fire with ever increasing renders per event, slower production in general, bigger PD's aswell as a bunch more 2nd MC Dylan events that weren't even planned in the first place. Said it before, will say it again; The easy solution is to go back to sub 100 render events, remove the fucking Dylan MC arc which is a game inside the game and should be a standalone project imo, and upping production (aka render/day count) to pre-act2 levels. That way, L&P would be able to release 1-2 PD's a year providing content for every route like he used to. But he's not doing that and so we are left with 400+ render events and at this point more than 2 years for a single PD which in return means hardly any content on any route for many years to come...or rather never as clearly the game will eventually end up being abandoned because 50 years of development left is just a ridiculous number.
