A developer posting in his own game thread. It's nauseating.
I just wanted to deliver some context for this odd piece of odd weirdness, I'm working on.
This is my first ever game. I'm still learning how Ren'Py works.
(I just spent three hours figuring out how to use "if" statements, when doing variables. Ha!)
I have used this site for years and have thouroughly enjoyed my time. So I thought...:
"Hey, Mister! Why don't you try this stuff out." Now...
I know how to write (sort of), but I don't know jack-shit about graphic design. I can't use Blender or any of that, cause I'm too technologically illiterate. And I can't draw to save my mom's life. So I've had to use the forbidden (and frankly horrid) AIcg.
(I'm tellin ya, if you've never tried developing a coherent aesthetic expression, using AI... I do not recommend it.)
But I'm hoping to elevate that stuff down the line. For now I just enjoy writing this darn thing too much. So the imagery comes second at the moment.
Anyway... Enough word-vomit from this freaky sod.

No worries. I did open a ticket for it, but ended up deciding against it. I couldn't really see any major upsides to it. But thanks for pointing me in that direction. Now I know it's a possibility in the future.

Hey really looking forward to how you develop it in the coming installments; think you did a good job introducing Bella and how she feels. I think your setup gives a lot of interesting development opportunities fo Bella in the future, now that she will for the first time recall receive male attention.

One point I'd like to make is that I hope you take some time to have Bella fall down the path of debauchery. Having Jerrod wanting to seduce her after bullying her in the past is a interesting setup, but I hope she doesnt immediately give in, and instead first needs some time getting used to and sort of craving male attention, after not having had any her entire life, before she would properly give in to his advances.

Having him switch up his treatment of her should first come as a massive shock to her, and she should be suspicious and hesitant in his presence. But maybe Jerrod could slowly butter her up by introducing her to 'cool' students who where always beyond Bellas social reach and slowly showering her with more attention, compliments and opportunities as she slowly comes to enjoy all the new possibilities her new look has opend up for her.

Other than that I hope that you continue having Bella having a lot of internal dialogue, I think it really helps set up her character well. Definitely looking forward to seeing how Bella slowly adjusts to having her new body, how she feels getting male attention for the first time. This can be spun into a corruption arc quite easily. For the first time in her life, she gets a "taste" of what having attention and being desires feels like. Like a thirsty person in the desert, that taste of attention doesn't quench her thirst...it ignites it.

Also, something I’d recommend for future projects is to avoid labeling the very first version as [v1.0] if you plan to keep updating the game. It can give players the impression that the game is already finished, even if it lacks the 'Completed' prefix.
The two current reviews seem to reflect this misunderstanding, so adjusting the version number could help manage expectations better.

I too have noticed this confusion, and it has thusly been changed with the latest update.

I really appreciate you taking the time to write down your thoughts and share them with me.

What I can say is that I'm trying to make the Jerrod route a slow burn with lots of self doubt in Bella. He will, however, not be 'seducing' her in the common sense. He will be more forceful in his approach and he won't exactly be treating her nicely. It's going to be a complete corruption/debauchery route. I'm trying to go for a mental state in Bella not unlike Stockholm syndrome.

Regarding the internal dialogues... those will continue in a big way. I find it to be the best way of conveying Bella's state of mind changing with her circumstances.

Anyway, thank you for your feedback. I hope I can deliver on at least some of the things you're looking for.

I get that this is a porn game and I shouldn't expect a deep narrative… but at this point, the "characters make poor decisions for the sake of porn" trope feels really stale.
At the very start of the game, Bella even breaks the 4th wall and asks the player to treat her well—but there’s literally no option to treat her well!

It's your game, and ultimately your vision, but please SAFFID, reconsider how the story progresses. I don’t mean to sound harsh; I’m just tired of seeing another game where a girl becomes corrupted by having a dick shoved in her peripheral vision. It could be so much more than that, and I genuinely think the game would benefit from more player agency and gradual character development.

Thanks for acknowledging my concern… but “opportunities for redemption” isn’t really what I’m talking about. What I mean is the ability to completely avoid that route altogether.

Right now, the “fall for my dick or I’ll literally kill your friend” situation is forced onto Bella with no real way to fight back or outsmart Jerrod.
There’s no option to convince Andrew not to snitch, no chance for Bella to go to the principal herself, no alternative path that would allow Jerrod to take a different approach—not even a player choice to affirm that Bella doesn’t enjoy the situation in the slightest. It just plays out as:
"The psychopath who threatened to kill my best friend just showed me his penis, and I loved every second of it!"

And as for the “self-doubt” part—it barely comes into play because, like I mentioned earlier, this isn’t a “slow burn.” It’s an instant searing scorch.
If anything, she doesn’t go into self-doubt, but more into self-affirmation with a tinge of self-deprecation!

If you’re really set on doubling down with the current approach, I really hope that the “redemption” you mentioned is cathartic. To give an example, two other games—Uni and Superhuman—handle their bully routes in a way that feels rewarding for the player. In Uni, the MC can call in a favor with a mafia friend who has the bully beaten up, and in Superhuman, the MC can directly fight back and break the bully’s arm (or even snap his dick like a twig, I am not even joking). They’re extreme, sure, but they give a sense of agency and satisfaction in an otherwise hopeless situation.

I’m not saying you should copy that exactly, but something that gives Bella an actual way to push back or reclaim control would make a huge difference.

I'll take your words into consideration. I have a various plans for route changes, getting out of the Jerrod route. I am now considering moving one of those route changes UP, so you can completely bypass Jerrod. It's gonna take a change of narrative build, since the Jerrod deal was gonna act as the foundation of these route changes. But I think it might be worth it. Cos I see your point completely.
Oh, and the line "Now that nerdy whimp has to die" is not meant to be taken literally. But if it's received that way, then that's a definite problem...
