Well, the only character that changed is Sombra, and even then we will get back to her design to bring her closer to the original look, because we took it step too far. Other than that, we didn't do any significant changes ever since. The reason for changes is the fact that our game grew too big to be comfortable with using someone else's IP, so to avoid a potential lawsuit we made small tweaks here and there, and changed the names.Man last time I played was the D.VA/Sombra update... what happened to their designs and name? Copyright? They look so bland.
Yup, we did exactly that. There's like 500+ pages of story script in our game, trying to go through manually would have taken as forever and more. We tried to fix all of those mistakes before releasing, but some still slipped through. Thanks for pointing it out!The devs just used a text editor to change the character names.
Usually this isn't a problem, but when someones name is also a regular word... (During the first PE scene) View attachment 3242593
The biggest problem is that the rest of the characters is drawn in much higher resolution, since we will be bringing our game to a proper FullHD. He will be updated or at least upscaled, and characters like Reina, whom new design is using completely new artstyle will get adjusted to fit in a bit more. We're working on solving this problem, so don't worry.i have yet to play this update but just looking at this hurts. the main character doesn't look like he fits in with the redesign. if he was at least redesigned to this new art style it would be easier to overlook the drastic change but currently he looks like a 2d character interacting with a 2.5d character. it's just uncomfortable to look at.
Pharah has already been updated to fit better with the old art style. Sombra will also get adjusted as I pointed in previous replies. Our first few redesigns went rocky, because we didn't have a pre-existing pipeline when it comes to their creation, but from now on it should look more more fitting, example below. The good thing (or bad, depending on how you view it) is that Sombra and Phara are the only ones in a different art style so far.
No I am not but is that bottom picture the new art style is what I want to know because if so than the game is a no for me. That is just awful.you are aware of the reasons involving the art style change, right?
the reason the art style and names were changed so dramatically was to avoid any legal trouble with Blizzard and so changes had to be made to ensure the game wouldn't be in trouble of being removedNo I am not but is that bottom picture the new art style is what I want to know because if so than the game is a no for me. well change sucks.. they look like they are all sad now.. the hair on Reina.. uggh...the reason the art style and names were changed so dramatically was to avoid any legal trouble with Blizzard and so changes had to be made to ensure the game wouldn't be in trouble of being removed
then stop playing and leave the thread. honestly it makes no difference how you feelwell change sucks.. they look like they are all sad now.. the hair on Reina.. uggh...
1. New art all look like they lost confidence in themselves their expressions with down cast eyes (I'm shy and ugly emotion on them. Pharah no longer looks up with confidence but downwards with no confidence.)
2. Pharah hair just looks better overall but Reina turned into some junk punkster with bright purple awful hair do. So now she is a non-confident punk girl. She lost her looking up with confidence and a bit of smugness.
Enough change would of been to get rid of the chopped hair do and changed the style to regular long hair that is Black and Blue, wavy, and flowing. But that change killed the entire game for me she was one of my favorite girls but now I can't stand to look at her.

I want to say that this comment hasn't aged well.In other news: Based DEVS being the most based.
I literally replied to you few comments above, bottom pic (the one with purple hair) is the old artstyle. The one at the top, with blue hair, is the one currently in game.No I am not but is that bottom picture the new art style is what I want to know because if so than the game is a no for me. Feel free to elaborate, otherwise we wouldn't be able to fix our game's problems.I want to say that this comment hasn't aged well.
Just to make sure you didn't miss our response — the in the picture below the purple-haired girl on the left is Reina's old sprite, and the blue-haired version on the right is the new one. Reina will get another visual rework in 2024 to make sure her sprite will fit in better with the existing Academy34 artstyle.well change sucks.. they look like they are all sad now.. the hair on Reina.. uggh...

Hey, thank you for kind words! Sometimes it takes a lot out of me, but hey, our game got where it's at thanks to some great feedback this community provided. In regard to Ana: She'll be getting a proper update early this year, after Ava (Dva) and Blaze (OC).Looking at it from the outside, I appreciate Young being so involved with a group that is essentially enjoying the hard work for free. I just would like to know if there is going to be any content with Ana Amari. Personally I'd like to see older Ana, but any would be appreciated.
That said I'm going to hop over and at least contribute a little. Thanks for the hard work.
Ok so how are the plans for the reworks on Sraphina and Sonya? I remember it was mentioned that you wanted to rework them since they were the frist done and were way more simple than the rest.Hey, thank you for kind words!
