honestly ... some rpgmaker games are good. but i must admit that most of them use the long way for extend their gameplay time.

aka ... go across the whole map for doing a shit and go back to the opposite for nothing. the whole thing at the speed of an amputee snail (yup, yup) .

then dev can say "the game have hours of gameplay".. but its boring as shit because all you do is to go from A to B miles away for a shit useless.
and its even more boring when during this path you get like dozens of fights . remember me some final fantasy games that really turn you pissed and bored because you cant make 3 streps without a fight.

and of course, this also allow to post less content (external content) on the game such as CGs or else...

but yeah ... 90% of time... rpgm games are boring as fuck and bad. 10% are just some exceptions

Final Fantasy 7 and 8 are two of my favourite games of all time but by fuck it gets annoying trying to travel on the world map when every step sees you in combat.
