Just because you didn't get the game "You" wanted doesn't make it a bad game. And how would you even know if you haven't bothered to finish it? You have every right not to like this game but you don't have a position of informed opinion. You are only going on hearsay.
And just because you got the one you wanted doesn't make it "good."
But Heavens Forfend someone try and contradict the circle jerk this thread has gotten to be, right? Yeesh.
To be fair - he didn't say it was a bad game. Just that he lost interest - because it wasn't the game he wanted. Nothing wrong with that.
He did say that the game could have been better if criticism was considered - but I think many of us would just disagree on that point. If that were done - it wouldn't have been the game
I wanted.
I know a lot of people look at this as some kind of principled "I took a stand against the raving barbarians who know nothing about true drama, and woe betide them for they are ignorant and taste good with ketchup," kind of thing. And hey, you know, sometimes that's actually how it is. Sometimes a writer/director/musician whatever has good reason to step in front of their audience and pull a "You think you know what you want, but you don't."
So, believe me, I get it that when a lot of people here applaud PC for his "I had a dream, and I won't deviate from it" approach. It's just I've also seen that approach fail. I don't think it's too far out there to say that there have been quite a few times when a "professional" thought they knew better than the "unwashed masses" only to find that their work wasn't universally well received (for whatever reason.)
All I'm saying is that on rare occasions, even us "filthy peasants" have a point.
