VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Acting Lessons [v1.0.2] [DrPinkCake]

Simply fantastic, a story that makes you emotional, sad and happy at the same time. The characters are also well developed, with their own motivations, and I really liked Liam, he symbolizes what true friendship is. It's not just about happy or sad days, it's about lifting your head and trying to move on.

Yo wtf is this dude? I play these games to get my jollies, not to have the biggest breakdown ive ever experienced from any movie/tvshow/game. Seriously I was crying on and off for days after playing this. I didnt even think that was possible for me. Which speaks to how brilliant and well done this game is. And you will still get your jollies as there are plenty of steamy scenes that are just enhanced by the phenomenal writing and character development which makes them feel like real people. But I will say if you're in an emotionally vulnerable place and want to avoid anything that could potentially upset you, steer clear of this game. If you get emotionally invested, which is very easy to do with how well written this game is, it will tear your heart out. With that being said its definitely not a game for everyone, but for me I consider this nothing short of a masterpiece 10/10

I am really impresswd of ghis game. Obviousley the Dev DrPinkCake is a real professional writer and passionate artist to deliver such a outstanding game with really great story and twists. I never experienced a more engaging and exciting story yet as VN. I know that the Dev is also doing the high ranked VN Being a DIK which i didnt had the time to play yet but if it is as good as Acting lessons i am grateful to start it soon from beginning. It is rare that a game is in that quality available here without any errors or bugs. Now i will try some more playthroughs with different choices to get all endings. Really a great game what i can reccomend to everyone who wants go enjoy beautyful character designs and exciting storytelling with remarkable decissions.

I just have to review the first ever Ren'Py adult vn I ever play. This game also jump-starts the dev fame and career of adult vn with highly successful DIK. There is nothing particularly special about the game story other than competently written. It is a decent game after all compare with so many trash out there. I'll give it 5 stars because thanks to this game I fell into the deep rabbit hole of porn games.

I expected a lot more from the way it was hyped up. It wasn’t bad but the big ending seemed contrived and unnecessarily forced also it didn’t make sense if you played the way I did. Maybe it was better if you played differently but since I didn’t it didn’t seem good. Minus 1 star also for being way under the hype.

Damn, I thought that Being a DIK was a rollercoaster of emotions. I have so much to say but I don't know how to express it. Seriously, I've never thought that this type of game could make me so emotional and attached to other characters. It's a shame this game is short and that you can't get a perfect happy ending, but it's also nice to finally see something realistic, not a game where you just build your harem and fuck everything that walks. I've finished this game about 20 minutes ago and I feel like I'm going to start crying again. Fuck you DrPinkCake for being so good at this. You definitely set the bar very high up for other devs with your fantastic games.

I simple love this VN.
I really can't remember the last time I cried watching movie or playing a game. Probably like 15-20 years ago or more. But this story really made me feel so emotionally attached to the girls that yeh I cried.
Story simply amazing, girls personalities are trully revealed.

Excellent game. It's not simply an erotic narrative; it's a full-fledged dramatic story with only a few parts of 18+ material. Characters are so beautifully written that you feel very close to them, and the events of the game work very well for you as a result of that wonderful writing.

I played the vanilla route, only main girl. That route is a pretty mediocre porn game. But as a visual novel, it is fucking perfect, 10/10, can't get any better than this. I would've killed to see this as a mini-series.

Among the games I played in this site, this is the only one that made me emotional(with little more depressing ending it might have even made me cry), this is the only one that which my fav character is the least sexually desirable character in the game(at least from a heterosexual male perspective), tihs is the only one that I played in one sitting. I didn't sat through it, I couldn't get up from my PC.

After playing Being A DIK, I thought to myself characters and the general storyline aspect of this game could not get any better, holy shit was I wrong.

After seeing these 2 games, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if DrPinkCake turns out to be a secret famous screenwriter/director these games are that good.

It is.. well made game. Graphics looks good, characters are interesting, story was entertaining. But..

I play those games to ejnoy, to have fun. And at certain point I stopped enjoying this one. It became impossible to do so. Like I said, I play to enjoy myself, not to deal with bad feelings. Well, I can enjoy some bad things that happens, especially if story is good enough, but amount of bad thing that happened to MC is way above enjoyable line. Basically from the ending of chapter 6 this game does 180 turn from funny lightweight drama into 100% dark shit. Life is bad enough, I don't want to deal with this kind of crap inside games I'm playing. I absolutelly detest the fire situation, and shit that goes on through rest of the game. I feel like I should've stopped playing somewhere near chapter 6 middle part.

I actually played it twice, to just to see what can 'the best' ending offer(after my first play ended badly). Well my first thought, amount of things you can't do to archieve that 'best' endings basically cuts sex scenes to quarter, or even less. So.. either enjoy yourself during first few chapters and then suffer, or restrain yourself to make outcome better. Right.. Restraing in adult game you're playing for fun? Uhhh.. not really my thing. Also, the problem is.. even if game ends in the most positive way, I can't really enjoy it as much as I should, after all this mud I've been forcibly dragged through in last chapters. I just can't. And not forget that basing on your choices it can end badly on so many fronts, I'm afraid of ever playing it again with different choices in fear that I'll feel even worse than during first time.

If it was some kind of warning on the front page about the 'dark' content, I wouldn't have even touched it, but sadly there isn't such a thing. And after playing BADIK first, I really didn't see that coming.

Just finished the game, loved it until the fire part. After that I pretty much just skipped all the way to the end.. just felt like it jumped the shark there. The nice thing is that it seems that DPC really improved his "big picture writing" on Being a Dik, it feels more grounded and refined in many ways. Just hope he doesn't try anything crazy like this again lol

This is my first review. I considered reviewing something less well-established due to this already being ubiquitous and universally praised. I was so moved by this experience though.

In lieu of a traditional review on the core components I thought I'd describe the whole experience as compared to other games. For some context, I almost exclusively play NTR games because that's my thing, and I always play the role of asshole who tries to bang every girl. For some reason I was compelled here to play it as if I were really the character and falling for Megan. She was the 4th most attractive girl to my tastes but the writing was so strong I wanted to be loyal to her.

To even compare this to other adult games I've played (maybe 80-100) would be an insult. This isn't a sex game it's a beautiful experience and story that has sex in it. The girls are attractive, Melissa and Jessy are near the top of the list of most beautiful 3d models I've seen.

Can't really talk about the story without spoiling much. The best way I can put it, is that if I had paid to see this story in a theater, or read a full length novel of it, that I would have been blown away and very satisfied. This isn't something I would be able to say about any other games I've played, despite many being solid in terms of sex/serviceable story.

As many have said Liam is the goat NPC any genre, any platform, no doubt.

When I review anything I love, I try to always include at least 1 criticism. I guess here I would say that some alternative options in terms of how you treated girls would have been nice. For example, it would have been really interesting with Megan's bubbly lovable personality, to turn her into a mindless meathole in the bedroom but retain her spirit outside of that. At the same time the creator clearly had a vision for things and this was hard to find any room for improvement honestly.

Lastly, I'm not sure if others would feel the same, but there is a very specific detail of the plot that is somewhat revealed near the final moments of the game involving Liam and a difference in how he was feeling. But the revelation was simply alluded to, not outright explained. It was very refreshing to see a style of writing in a game where the author respects the audience enough to let them put some things together without explicitly stating what happened to make sure everyone understands. It's a little thing but even in huge AAA games this never happens. If anything quite the opposite where we're clubbed with exposition.

Probably a weak review but hopefully next time I will do better with a more traditional style. Bottom line: play this game if you haven't, and be good to Megan she's a sweet girl.

Have to get this out of the way. Liam by far is the best guy character I’ve ever had the pleasure of getting to know in any VN or Adult game. I went into this, thinking he was just going to be a randomly inserted friend character/side character that just is there. But boy was I wrong.



Anyways going on to the review, I’ll try to avoid spoilers, but SPOILER WARNING, just in case. And a summarized TLDR will be at the bottom.



Renders/Models: 4.5/5

The designs are great. They look like they can be actual real people. I can definitely see them in a live action setting tbh. No homo, but I like that our MCs dick isnt cartoonishly big like in most of these games lol.


Animation: 3.5/5

Animation for sex scenes is simple. Nothing innovative, but it works. Sex scenes are good. Nothing really to complain about, but nothing super crazy.


Script/Dialogue: 5/5

Love the writing in this. Its written like its an actual drama. The dialogue is natural and it never felt awkward when characters spoke to each other. The dialogue always fit the characters it pertained to. Its consistent, coherent and very competent.


Characters: 5/5

The characters are great. Not only do they look human, they feel and act it too. In a good portion of VNs, many struggle to maintain a normal conversation between characters. This game is one of the few that doesnt have porn or anime dialogue in it. Meaning you can visualize these characters actually existing. They have flaws, not character flaws, real HUMAN flaws that can pertain to any of us behind our screens. They have insecurities, worries, as well as hopes and aspirations. Their personalities also fit with their designs if that makes sense.

This MC actually has a personality and actually develops (well depending on your choices), he isnt a blank slate, he has a past and has flaws. It felt like I actually knew and befriended these characters.


Plot/Gameplay: 5/5

The plot is great. You think you’d start by meeting a girl and just randomly hitting it off with her, but no its hits you with a very traumatic event that bonds the two of you together. And from there we go into a story about abuse, betrayal, love and moving forward.

The choices you make affect the plot. How you think/play will affect your relationships for better or for worse. For example if you think you can just bang some hooker and choose not to pay her, her pimp will gun down your dog in a few chapters or some shit lol. Very weird example but I’m just letting you know there can be serious consequences if you go into this with a “bang everything in sight” mentality.


TLDR/Overall: 4.6/5

Great game. The characters are likeable and their actions make sense or you can atleast see their way of thinking. The designs are good, the sex scenes are alright. The dialogue feels like actual people talking, not a porn video. The plot is great, it will catch you off guard. You have to really think about the choices you make.



Will definitely come back to shoot for the other endings. But rn still processing the emotional rollercoaster that was Acting Lessons. Props to you DrPinkCake, now i just gotta catch up with Being A Dik

Had an absolute blast. Liam is hands down the best written character I have had the pleasure of being bros with in any erotic game i have ever played. Made me laugh out loud and hit me with the feels back to back. Enjoyed the fuck out of our bromance. To be fair though all characters are beautifully written. Edit: Just finished the game. I feel absolutely devastated in the best way possible, a real tear-jerker this one.

Came for the sex (no pun intended), stayed for the story. I really liked that the MC's choices do have consequences even though there are some things that you cannot influence - just like real life.

I can see that not everybody will be happy with the turn of events at the later stages of the game but - from my perspective - it gives the story much more impact and is able to produce emotions that I was not prepared for.

I guess this makes it more of a game with sex instead of just a sex game but that is a good thing in my book.

I really don't think the ending I got improves the rest of the story. Thinking back, I wish I had just stopped playing at a certain point and left the story there.

Also, the walkthrough isn't quite correct. I got ending #8 despite not having sex with a certain character in episode 5

Played this game on a whim back then, and well I got to say one of the best games out there, brought me to love VN and all the goodies along with it, choices and paths and girls, can't go wrong with any of them! and overall great looking girls!

This game made me love VN.
I played it 3 times in 1 weekend. It's linear but it's easier to concentrate on the new choices.
It's very well written, a mature story (stop the prepubescent student stories) and the girls are very pretty to look at (my compliments to Melanie and Rena).

Well what can I say that hasn't already been said? This VN is awesome. If you after a quick fap then this probably isnt for you. Yes there is plenty of sex but it always feel like its the right amount for the given situation. This one is definately for the readers with plenty of hard choices to build up to the climax of the story. Having had to deal with so many of the games elements in real life, it hit such a chord with me. I never thought I could get emotional over a bloody porn VN.

The absolute best story and characters in any adult VN I've ever experienced! It's a hell of a ride! The game is filled with conflicting emotions! Laughter, joy, happiness but also sadness, anger, shock, drama and depression. It's brutal ngl. If you're struggling with depression the game's ending may be too much for you. I was a wreck by the end and was bawling my eyes out. I couldn't stop thinking of the game for many days after I finished it. It really had a genuine effect on me. It will always have a special place in my heart and it will always be a Number 1 for me. If you're considering supporting the creator, don't give it a second thought. He deserves every penny he makes. Masterpiece!
