Imo the patch does nothing noteworthy at the moment, just a couple of lines at the start which doesnt add much to the story so far. I completely depends on the progression of the game in the future. Its either written that the patch potetially makes sense or not. If not, than there is no reason to use it at all and if it will make sense, no harm done since its optional...
