Hello bois,
First and foremost, I want to sincerely apologize for the delay in releasing
Affexon v0.3. As many of you know, this was due to the heart surgery I underwent in November 2023.
While working on v0.3, I realized there were two major challenges I needed to address: timely updates and better communication. The delays could arise from various reasons—real-life issues, my health, spending too much time perfecting a single render, or occasionally getting caught up in other games. After a lot of reflection, I’ve decided to tackle the problem of delays by creating at least three versions in advance. By working in bulk, I can manage my time and development process more effectively. This will also allow me to provide my dialogue writer, Marbles, with renders ahead of time, giving him a clearer visual reference to craft fitting and engaging dialogues. With this new approach, both you and I can feel more confident that future updates will release as promised.
Now, onto the second issue: communication. Admittedly, I struggle with this in real life as well, but I’ve come up with a plan that might help. I’ll share more details about this after v0.3 is released. As for v0.3 itself, it’s complete, but it currently contains what I call “rough dialogues,” written by me—which, as many of you know, is not my strongest skill. I’ve handed the update over to Marbles, who plans to finalize the dialogue by December 22nd. After that, I’ll review the content, make any necessary edits, and prepare the final release.
You might wonder why I didn’t involve Marbles earlier when v0.3 was initially finished. The truth is, I wasn’t financially stable at the time, largely due to the costs of my surgery. I didn’t want to ask for his help unless I was in a position to compensate him fairly for his work. I was also uncertain about the release timeline and felt it wouldn’t be right to involve him without clarity on when I could pay him. I know asking you to wait until Christmas for v0.3 might be disappointing—I, too, want to release it as soon as possible. But rest assured, if the finalized version isn’t ready by December 25th, I will release the current version instead. Please keep in mind, though, that the dialogues in this version might feel a bit off—just like how MC looks in the VN.
Finally, I want to thank you all for your unwavering support. Your kindness and encouragement, along with my family’s love, have been crucial in helping me stay emotionally and financially stable during this challenging time. I know I haven’t fully lived up to your expectations so far, and for that, I deeply apologize. However, I ask you to put your faith in me once again as we restart this journey together.
Best regards,
Naughty Developer
