After That Night Chapter 8 - Progress Update


I know I know. I said that end of December for the next chapter release but as you know from previous chapter releases I sometimes (most of the time) end up releasing the chapter after the deadline. Oops. with Christmas and New Year, things got a little busy for me and the update was delayed. But worry not! It's not a long delay. Now with some free time from my job and university, I have more free time I can dedicate to working on game. This chapter will be released in 2 parts. I don't know the exact timelines because I can't release the game with messy writing that why It depends on my proofreader and his availability. But it still shouldn't take long. I have more than 100 renders done. Writing and scripting are also done for the part 1. As for the remaining renders I'm working on it. With my very out-of-date GPU rendering even a single image takes a decade that's what's holding release time back very much. But slowly I'm making progress.
This first part will mostly focus on Charlotte, Sophie, and Amelia.

How big are the files for each individual render? Are they huge? I have a 3090 I only use for occasional gaming; feel free to send me a message if you want, we might be able to come up with a clever way for you to use it, depending on what rendering software you use (and your internet speeds lol).

After That Night - Chapter 8 Preview #2

Hello all!
I'm still alive and working on the game, so no worries! PC is rendering nonstop but it's painfully slow. LIke I only managed to render 11 images yesterday, while PC was rendering for a whole day. Same for today. I have 150 renders already on my hand and 15~ is still yet to be rendered.
Now for a release schedule. I can manage to render all the remaining images before Monday and be done with it, send it for proofreading which could take a couple of days, and chapter 8 part 1 will be released next week. However, I don't know if I should do that because I want to finish the whole scene (the scene from the picture and the one after that, so 2 scenes in total) but this could take additional days(more than 2 weeks). That's why I'm not sure which way is better.
So I'll ask you instead:
A) Release the unfinished scene earlier
B) Delaye the update for 2 weeks and finish it all

Hey there. I appreciate the help but sadly I don't think it's possible(at least from my knowledge). I already tried using friends PC to render images for my game and found a way to extract all the necessary files for the scene, but the software I was using wasn't able to extract scene information correctly(posing, lighting, simulation data) so I have to relay on my own GPU before I'll be able to afford a better one.

So I'll ask you instead:
A) Release the unfinished scene earlier
B) Delaye the update for 2 weeks and finish it all
imho B. more is always better and it is essential that you dont overpressure yourself. and your player base would appreciate a complete scene more.

Further more,, I believe that players would have to wait either way with the only difference that they would have half a scene in their hands in case A and then waiting for the rest, while in case B, they would wait for the complete scene.

I hope I made some sense.

B. Take the time you need to finish.
