Well, "What a Legend" just came back from the dead abandoned after two years, so...
What a legend was always being worked on. They maybe weren't posting on patreon, or doing whatever this site needs them to do to avoid that tag though. They were however updating their games progress on discord frequently

Didn't know such minutia but, what i'm trying to say is that this game is not a regular py render. It's art, in which was invested a lot. And i believe it will be revived sooner or later.

Haven't visited the thread in quite a while, but did notice their crowdfunding sites seem down. I wonder what happened? For Patreon, the project probably ran afoul of their ever-changing rules. Ah anyway, I read a post from Binary that development is on hold.
ha
wtf..
who is that?!..
The team's scenario writer.
Gaussian left now only Fracture remains.
What? I don't know where you got this info, but iirc, "GaussianFracture" is just one person and is the team's artist.

And since we're talking about the team, Elvishious was the programmer for Afterglow.

From Digteren's screenshot on the previous page, one of the devs said that they''ll be back sometime this year. I suppose we'll see and hope for the best. It's not like some of us are eagerly waiting for certain games to drop an update after a year or two, or certain webcomics to return "soon" since 2002, or sitting around with a baseball and glove for their father-figure to return after they said they'll be "right back" from the store to get some cigarettes... We just got to have faith. Right?

Are there games similar to this game ?
As far as i know, this is an only one, centered on clean M/S relations, without any magic, supernatural stuff and huge D's. Which alone makes it a unicorn here. Add this kind of art to it and yeah...
But feel free to conduct your own research. And please share if you find something.
PS: Well, if i'm completely honest, there is a one novel that has come near - an "Adverse effect", but it's rendered, linear and pretty short. Hope devs will not be angry at me, mentioning other game in this topic.
