Seen this pattern wayyyy to many times this game is done for I hate to be that guy but having been that classic. Patreon supporter DEVs tend to just milk all the cash out of you. A shame tho but yeah this should be abandoned.
Been a year since the last update was released to the public i think its over
Pretty sure they paused their Patreon a while ago.

It is kinda annoying that it went on development hold RIGHT after one of the biggest moments in the game

Yeah the timing wasn't exactly amazing, but at least it still feels relatively early in the game, so when it gets back on track there's plenty to look forward to.
I think it would have been worse for me if we had got even more of a taste of Meg and then it had stopped.
I've never seen a game with more development problems. I've given up on it for coping purposes, but am hopeful dev gets to work out his irl issues.
