I won’t get into the debate about whether AI-generated work counts as real art, I just want to say that I enjoy AI art when it’s done well. That said, there are a lot of people trying to make a quick buck, and the results can sometimes be downright horrifying, extra fingers, distorted faces, and eyes that look like they came straight out of a horror movie.

There are also crap artists from before the AI era who just got a real picture and used a 'cartoon' filter or traced it.

I think its a tool, the application is what determines if someone is an artists or not. For me a pencil is for writing, for my friend they can make lifelike images.

Wrong
you can send prompts
damn good ones...

AI is the artist here you are just a watcher.
watch and see what AI does for you.
Go back, read every post, then come back here and update your statement. AI imaging is easy then it isn't any more once you get to a certain point, just like drawing is easy until you have to do more than stick figures, then it isn't easy any more.

Edit: To clarify that, I never argued about who was making the art, I was arguing whether the input the person using the AI does and the fine tuning they apply to an image is enough to allow them to be called an artist, the same way a DJ is called a musician.

Edit2: Further clarification due to an OCD moment. When I said I make images with AI I meant that literally, I cause images to be made, then I fine tune them, and tweak them, etc. etc. You are arguing grammar here, by agreeing with my base point in the first place, which is ironic.
