okay, so i'm just going to spout off a bunch of shit about this game i don't like, because while this is an okay game, it's flaws are genuinely painful.
the fact you cannot heal your strength or whatever it's called meter and can heal only your "health" meter is a major fuck-up. captivity didn't have this problem because it had you be able to purchase drugs that would give you back a percentage of that meter, but here there's only one drug that you can buy only once between waves.
there's no upgrades you can purchase, nor is there any benefit to most of the other weapons in the game. there's no point in using the Magnum, Uzi, MP7, AK, M4A1, MG42, PPSh, Luger, etc. the upgrade path is the tec-9 to get the shotgun, then buying the katana for when you get knocked down, then you spend the rest of your money on incendiary grenades and painkillers. all the other weapons are just fluff for the sake of fluff.
the full enemy roster is completed after wave 10, which takes around 5-8 minutes to get to. within 8 minutes, you already have seen everything you'd want to see in the game.
forward skedaddle is a hindrance a majority of the time when used in combat. since you can't fire while mid-air from forward skedaddling, you won't be able to clear the area you're going skedaddling into until you've already landed, and by that point you'll soak up a bunch of damage if you don't immediately forward skedaddle again in the same direction. it's best used as a "point-a-to-point-b" movement utility than it is an intuitive mechanic. the only good skedaddle is backwards skedaddle, as it's best used again the one single enemy that ruins runs, the venustrap.
fuck the venustrap. i get the need for a ranged enemy, but holy shit i fucking despise the venustrap. it's slime/gooball projectile thing pisses me the fuck off. it is the most infuriating thing imaginable, and it spawns after wave 3. by wave 3, if you don't have the shotgun and you aren't skedaddling (because most of the time why would you ever push the button to) you're almost guaranteed to get hit by the projectile if you haven't already practiced jumping when the projectile initially spawns. it is the sole reason i haven't even managed to get to wave 50 yet, because it is the one enemy that actually requires skill in order to beat it, aswell as due to it's small surface area and slow movement speed, it will almost always be behind a pumpkin or lycanthrope, making it to where when i try to shoot the venustrap first, i'll just hit the enemy infront of it, letting it hit me while i'm mid-air, causing me to fly directly into another enemy's rape animation.
the enemy's are just mindlessly boring, besides the venustrap. they just walk at you, except the venustrap. sure, the knockia can spew a smoke cloud, obscuring your vision, which only impedes your vision if A: you shoot the knockia further away to where you can't see any enemy go into the smoke or B: you haven't zoomed out. the lycanthrope can summon something that hits you if you stand still. no, seriously, i've only ever been hit by this attack when i've stood still, and due to the fact that it's a sidescroller, you're never going to be standing still. even if you're walking, or crouching (why does this exist, atleast make it increase your base weapon accuracy), this attack will not hit you ever. none of the enemies in the game, besides the venustrap, require a modicum of skill to overcome the challenge they pose. mindnumbingly boring.
if any of you want to say i have a skill issue, fair enough, but be honest. does this game mechanically incentivize skill? of fucking course not. the flat weapon feel, the rng headshots, 3/4 of the enemies not doing shit to any average porn game player. this game is most fun for the first 3 waves, because there's a sliver of struggle, of progression. after that, it's just boring.
wave 50 isn't a skill check, it's a grind. it takes like, an hour and 30 to get to wave 50.
i can see why killing floor 2 has a limited number of waves. high wave shit, like in nazi zombies, is fucking boring. a complete waste of time.
