Pretty sure it's just the shading and/or environment. The hairstyle is also the same and if you look closely it does look grayish

Yeah. I want more APHO Bronya, hell, APHO Mei is nice too. Ngl, tired of HSR and Genshin ones. It gets stale even when free. It's like eating chocolate cake every single day. It's good for the first few days but you get sick of it after. Variety is the best.
APHO Bronya already have a lot, even she is become iconic that OL Bronya is associated with AKT lol. APHO Mei is the one needed, cause most of them is short and old video...

Face it, chasing trends is what puts the most bread on the table. They only way we HI3rd players win against the wider playerbase is to throw fat stacks of cash at AKT's face and have him commission a long video for us.
So who's going to volunteer spending $50k for the endeavor?

MMD models don't count. He's not drawing anything by hand when he takes existing models and makes them do stuff.

Even if you're not creating the models from scratch, there's still a lot you have to account for. How their hair flows, how their limbs move, whether or not their movements are gonna be more dynamic, how all of that interacts with the environment around them, textures/shading based on the environment they're in, touch ups once the base animations are established, etc. etc. Yes, Akt saves more time not having to make the models himself, which means he can push out more content in a shorter period of time but there's still a lot that goes into it.
