I do not understand... I can't find any new locations, there are only two initial researches in the library, I don't see a homunculus creation button anywhere, and only four of my friends are available. What am I doing wrong?
The latest version is only a demo, so a lot of those features are not available unfortunately.

Wow it's been awhile since I played this but I'm pretty sure the UI has changed ALOT. Definitely very different from most of these HTML games.
The endless dev cycle of porn games:
-Enthusiastic dev has nice idea and makes some progress, game has some first content
-People like it
-A few small updates come slowly
-People start getting suspicious
-Dev suddenly and for no reason scraps 90% of his progress, tries to redo everything
-People scream "not again"
-Dev disappears into the limbo forever
The only thing thats missing is the patreon account that still has 20k monthly income despite no updates at all or 1-2 minor bugfixes since months/years.
