I'm going to cut directly to the chase here and say, this game isn't very good, objectively. Aside from a dearth of content--particularly sexual (you know, the stuff we're all here for)--the writing is on the weak side including grammatical errors as well as terms and concepts that seem wildly out of place in the medieval setting. Furthermore, some parts go on too long and don't seem to be related to anything (wtf was that hide and seek thing?!)...that said, there is goofy charm here and I cannot bring myself to hate it. The renders are all pretty and MC Alenja is hot. I love pervy sidekick Yorik, as he seems like some kind of old man lech you'd find in an anime. I'm also a sucker for fantasy settings like this.

- Writing is poor and incongruous to the setting
- Not a lot of sexual content at this stage

In spite of what would seem to indicate an overall negative appraisal, at the end of the day, I enjoyed the time I spent with the game and am happy to continue to follow it. If you can look past the inherent goofiness to everything, you might enjoy yourself too.

Note to Dev: Geez, where to begin. Try to match the writing more to the setting (how do they know about biochemistry and to use the metric system?) Don't go down long, dialog-filled rabbit trails that aren't germane to the plot. Try to have a little more sexual content in each release to get people excited.

This game meanders cluelessly from scene to scene with zero regard for any and sort of plot or pacing. It feels like a compilation of someone's adventures in AI Dungeon or NovelAI where they edited nothing, and only half-heartedly tried to keep the story on track.

What is the purpose of the random dress malfunctions of the woman in the market at the beginning? Why does everyone gasp like it's scandalous, when several people walk through town in various states of undress later.

Why does Alenja stupidly follow a trail of apples like a cartoon dog, and then decide to help a dryad in the middle of trying to rush back to save her friend? If your answer is "because she got lost, " ask yourself if that's good writing.

And as far as game mechanics go, what's the point of having timed decisions when one is always a game over? Timed decisions that lead to branching paths are fine, paths that lead to a game over are fine, but putting them together is really silly if you ask me. Minor props for including a subscript that tells you which choices lead to game over though.

This is my first time checking this game out, and maybe the original was better, but I am solidly unimpressed.

TL;DR This is a 4 star game held back by a 2 star developer whose perfectionism or fear of ending the game has led to an unnecessary remaster with less focus. Renders are great, and idea behind original was a solid romp. I don't intend for this review to be a slight, prior to the re-master this was just a solid 4, but history of F95zone leads people to be weary of inconsistency.


While I see a lot of reviews choosing to review this as a game, and others reviewing the developer I wanted to do both.

• The renders are great, nothing mind-blowing ala Midnight Paradise on its release, but nothing that falls behind the date, like honey select models. So that alone is praiseworthy.

• The gameplay is standard Renpy fare, so again nothing you'd write home about. Less exploration than other games but I'm not opposed to it when half of the other games exploration is just there to pad the length. This is where we get the 4 stars for the game.
• A 5 star game has to offer something new in; renders, story, or gameplay. Look to Milfy city, DmD (originally not now), Acting lessons/being a DIK, Good girl gone Bad, they all break ground in some way. Shoutout to Noxian nights for showing westerners could do JRPG porn games.

• Finally the developer. I want to start by saying im not critiquing their ability to create renders or a game, but their direction. Is this due to perfectionism? I ask that because i'm not convinced. With the change in focus I fear its a lack of following through. Finish this, if it's doesn't match your vision plan for the next one more, if you have new ideas but would have to re-work it, save it for the next one, if your unhappy with the renders use this as practice for the next one. No one starts out amazing, look at Acting Lessons vs Being a DIK. He tinkered with the story, and expanded on what he did, now he is a legend on here.

If your coming to this game fresh, and didn't play the original than you'll love this and look forward to more. If you have you'll not be a big fan and be nervous for the other shoe to drop.

u think that a remaster would be better? but in this case the dev decided to make a new game where the focus is lesser with Alenja and more to other side-characters.
why have the title Alenja's Adventures when its about a lot of other character's adventures?
like many already said, a kinetic novel with choices to get game overs. that can ruin it a bit. and mini-games to unlock more pictures in the gallery? sure, why not, but still annoying that u need to do a bunch of that for some pics. why not focus on the game and create more scenes instead of galleries and mini-games?
I play this game for "Alenja's" adventures but I get tons of other things that ruins it. I feel unmotivated to play and eventually it will get to the point I will just rip the pictures to see if theres anything new as the gameplay is not worth it.
and like many already said, good CG, models and animations. but a game is more than that. it should be sexy, erotic and stimulating in the right way, not the wrong way.
remaster version? I say more de-mastered version.

They even didn't finished the original game and launched a Remaster? Man this game is new, don't have what to change, the story is good and the scenes are good too, but if they want make a remaster for take time for think more on what put on the story, okay, do it, but I don't think a remaster will help it, maybe is just for take new Patreons, I don't know, I play it free and that is my review, if you want play something unfinished but with good scenes, go ahead my champ.

Great art, a compelling story, and fully realized characters. The plot is a refreshing change of pace from the classic lazy female protagonist game, where the MC is a total moron easily manipulated by a cast of one dimensional horny men.

Unfortunately Alenja's Adventures is held back by the awful game design. 90% of your "choices" in the game are between two options, the wrong answer resulting in a game over. There isn't really any actual choice and this is more of a kinetic novel than a VN.

It is a shame because so few female protagonist games have this level of quality in both renders and writing. In recent updates there has been a choice here or there that wasn't the classic right answer or game over, which is encouraging, however unless there is a significant change to the one dimensional user input, it will be capped at a 3/5 for me.

Alenja's Adventures is a nice fun fantasy game with a gorgeous girl protagonist with orange hair, blue eyes, nice body, muscular belly, .. ok I don't go into details (or should I ?! no no, better to see than hear) I played beforeheard version, so I think this remaster version will be even better. more girls, action, interesting dialogues, fun and sex scenes, improved village, nature ... need to see, I'm definitely in

This could be a great visual novel if it actually behaved as a visual novel and not a kinetic novel hidden behind false choices that end up with constant game overs. Renders are okay-ish and the sounds are yeah...
Story wise is okay but way to much forced one way content, or like I said previously 'GAME OVER'
Not a game I would recommend unless you like kinetic novels with some mini games thrown in for good measure.

Wish I could rate this higher, as it has some very nice renders, but sadly the bad far outweighs the good.
The Good
Very nice renders and animations. Lots of variety in the lovely ladies, and the setting and story start out very promising.
That's about it.
The Not so Good
Lots of game overs that don't make much sense. Why offer choices if they are just going to piss off your players? Don't like game overs, and really don't like them when they are so many and just seem to be there to trigger you. There are better ways to award special renders.
Puzzles and mini-games are pretty bad, and super irritating. Dislike Quick-time events in general, and will always skip them when possible. Sadly it's not optional in this one, and makes the game much more irritating than it should be.
Lots of creepy DoucheBaggins. If you are not going to allow a pure lesbian route, than there should be at least one dude that players can like. Lots of creepy rapists, and not a decent Dick in sight. Made me sad.
Incest tag removed. Really need some Mum/Daughter love scenes. Was pretty much why I was playing the game. Made me sad.
Overall lots of potential, sadly wasted on crappy game mechanics, and poor story choices.

I really like this game. I'm a huge fan of fantasy settings, and this game has a interesting story and nice characters. The graphics and the humor are great. The animations are well done and the content in the current state (v.021) is big. And the best thing is that the whole game gets a remaster with extra scenes

Renders are nice. The old guy is a bit creepy but then again here I am on a site full of sex games so who am I to judge

Overall it was nice. Defnitely looking froward to the remastred version, Hope we get it sooner rather than later but we'll see i guess.

Incredible game so far. Story is good, 3D models are amazing, kink variety is incredible and the gameplay is quite good with some minigames here and there, fights and important choices to be made. Looking forward to see it developed further.

Great graphics. Good story. Game is very well made. I am not fan of Medieval Fantasy games but this game is one of my few exceptions. The Humor the Dev injects sets it apart for me.
The scenes are incredible and well made. The animations are great and the expressions are nice.
Another surprise is just how much content the game has.
Overall, I can't recommend this game enough, very unique, and incredible level of production for an indie porn game .

I loved this game. First, the render quality is excellent. Characters are sexy and thicc but the sexy bits aren't exaggerated. The look is polished but not unnaturally so. Second, the story is far apart from the average " teen corrupts family members, teachers and the girl next door" VN. It is an adventure where you never know hat happens next, pretty exciting on its own. The minigames are a bit annoying but not that difficult. I loved this game and want it to continue.

The game seems to polarise a lot of viewers -- it's either great or poor.
People have commented on the quality of the renders, which are certainly a cut above most other games. The developer seems to take a certain pride in his work here.
The story seems to fade and return, almost as if the developer is uncertain about the direction he would like to follow. Sometimes side issues come to the fore while the main story disappears.
One thing I have noticed on this site is that games/VNs with strong plotlines and good characters tend to survive and prosper -- even with second-rate graphics. Games with weak, erratic or hopelessly vague plots cannot be saved by brilliant graphics and tend to sink into oblivion.
If the developer pays attention to the plot and his characters then I believe that this game has a solid future.
Not really worth four stars, but it is better than average. Keep trying!

Played this a few weeks back, didn't like it that much, but gave it a 2nd chance today. Played for a few hours and that's really more than it deserves. I mean, it's not a terrible game, but it's not good either.
Renders and animations are nice, but nothing outstanding.
Story is average, the game overs are annoying and too many. Most fetishes are tagged, there's also some untagged NTR.
The characters are not very likeable, at least not during the first 3 hours of gameplay.
The puzzles slow the pace and are completely unnecessary. They are no fun.

Overall experience: 2-2.5 stars

Go in with low expectations and maybe you will have more fun than I had.

MC is super good, artworks/3d models are good, side characters are good. Storyline is average. Not a lot of sex with MC (it can be a + or - whatever your tastes are). But maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan this game overs man. It's so annoying. + i personally hate this puzzles and shit.

Images looked good, and i have been saving this one for weeks. I played 3 minutes of noisy renders and 2 bad decisions that led to game over.

Feelig forced to do stuff i dont want under the threat of game over is definetly not someting i want in a game. Dont like to feel kidnapped.

Since the game says "female protagonist" i expected to play as a female. Didnt expect t play as an old dude who has to make the choices the game wants me to.
Farthermore i checked the image folder and theres animations in there with themes that are not tagged. Thats when i decided that this game was not for me.

Renders 4/5 - could be better background sometimes)
Story - 5/5 - it is not heavy, but I personally don`t like serious games so it`s + for me. Fun, kinky, unique.
Progression - updates are frequent, dev listenes to fanbase

For a choiceless game(you make no decisions at all) there are way too many game over "choices", i really cant see a point in them at all if the game overs dont have a story its just game over, so every single one is just do what we tell you or game over.

The guy is slapstick silly which dosent fit the era or his experiences and spoils the mood quite a lot, its hard to take the game seriously(he needs more human reactions to stuff other than horny/silly and a use at all other than just being there).

alenja is just a real bitch, not likeable at all.

The writing is quite poor and loses direction often(i have played to the end i dont know what the goal of the game is).

Main charaters have heavy plot armor so you never worry if something bad will happen to them.

There are a few good sex scenes so its worth a play for that alone.

Art is good but the extra renders that pop up in game should be removed as they again make it hard to take the game seriously(dont need to be stopped just not shown during the game).
