VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Alexandra [v1.0] [PTOLEMY]

The game's premise is interesting but definitely not new. When I saw that it is Mafia-related, I feel that it will be not my cup of tea (because I prefer more those that are "slice of life" stories). But I'm astonished to find myself invested in this game.

The main LIs - Alex and Isabella have well-defined personalities and feel like real people. The triple relationship among MC and these LIs is really cute and refreshing. Isabella is also very beautiful while Alex has very admirable personality.

Side characters are quite uninteresting to me except the gun girl (Jenny) but I am sad that there are almost no sex scenes with her.

The only thing that I didn't like with this game are the plot details that the dev failed to explain further or clarify. Also, the sex scenes are not that long and remarkable and sometimes too "mechanical".

Anyway, I still recommend this game because of its plot and main LIs.

game is 2-2.5/5 at tops but i will give 4 for now here is why;
Half the game you are passed around as a boy toy, if you are into that shit you will love it. If you are not then you wont care after you finish the game.
Character development is nice and all but it irks me when some things are easy to say are not said.

Im happy with the result that my choices impacted the story. That was a big plus for me.
Girls are nice even tho sex scenes renders are dated and fucked on some places, it can be polished. Like MC's plastic looking cock for example. It needs improvment definetly.
Again with the polishing there a alot of bugs, missed dialogs or misplaced dialogs. Sometimes you see renders behind renders (if you dont know what i mean im pretty sure people posted or will post some pictures.)if you are following the story it doesnt affect you much. its just annoying.And needs lots of polishing.
So no the game is not finished, either the dev or a fan gotta do some fixes.
Story is pretty jumpy but i dont think that was bad, the bad thing is so many stuff left out. Its like after some point game is rushed, and it is tiresome.
Overall im satisfied with the ending. It was a bumpy ride but it was worth playing. This is why i wont break not more than 1 star. And give it a 4/5.
Because i believe "Alexandra" can be a 5/5 game after some fixes here and there. Maybe a DLC where we delve into the demons idk.
Do i reccomend it to anyone? Hell yea! There isnt much "pregnancy" games with satisfying results. So this is a gem among other ones.

good game otherwise but lots of things were left unexplained but otherwise game is well made and story is interesting and sexscenes are well made and has hours worth of playtime unless plays with skip pressed down but then misses story.

So, the models and environments are nothing to write home about. The plot isn't that original. The supernatural elements could be dropped from the game with no real loss. Dialogue is stiff, translation and spelling is kinda off. Side girls are underdeveloped, and the ending is a bit stunted.

So why couldn't I stop playing it?

This game is one of those times where somehow, the end product is more than the sum of its parts. There's just enough egging you on to go into the next chapter. Keep in mind, you aren't going to have you mind blown. This is a solid game, not an S tear title. This is like when Ice Pirates comes on tv at 2pm on a Saturday. Sure, you're gonna have an ok time, but it's not that hard to top it. Would be happy, though, to see some of the dev's other projects.

To be honest I can't say that Alexandra is a bad game but it didn't work forme (v1.0 version). The main reason has to do with the story, it is a very slow burn which I have no problem with, but the problem I do have with it is that it's not interesting. If I want to play "daily life of a criminal" I want there to be interesting things in it, interesing reflections or character development, gameplay or at least meaningful choices. There aren't any of those things and the important moments in which you should be able to choose, you actually can't or the choices are so extreme that there is not really much to think about in them.

Character models and renders are pretty nice and actually believable in complexion, sizes etc. which is a nice change in this genre. There is no sound though. And I haven't met any bugs in my time playing.

So, all in all, Alexandra bored me. Which is a bad thing, not for the lack of sex but for the non appealing story. So, if you're here for a quick fap you won't get it, and if you're here for the story I found it uninteresting.

TLDR: To be frank, I was torn between awarding two or three stars, but considering where we are at, I've decided to rate the game primarily on it's merits as an adult game, and as such, Alexandra is just a below average offering, at least in my book.

When the game starts out, things actually appear promising, but unfortunately, it quickly devolves into a soap-opera-esque affair where the story just kinda sorta keeps humming along.
None of the sexual scenarios that would present themselves are properly explored. There is almost no player agency, you are just along for the ride in a mostly linear romance tpye story with Alexandra where her former female lover comes along for the ride. And, no, the possibilities of such a love triangle aren't properly explored either.
The kinky scenes are usually ... short. There's not much going on, much less exciting. When there's animations (I don't personally care much for those) they are also short (and are perfect examples of WHY I don't care much for animations). It's all pretty forgettable stuff.
In fact, I think the game wouldn't suffer much if you cut out the adult content wholesale and turned it into a slice of life game with a crime angle and just pulled a fade to black everytime there's an adult scene.

What remains is said crime angle plot. If you buy into it - many reviewers obviously do - the game can be decent, I guess. Still not spectacular by any means, there's much better games in this vein on the site, but ... yeah, still decent. Which means, average at best.

What the game has going for it is that it's solidly crafted. There's few bugs (I noticed none), few spelling mistakes, no engrish. The dialog comes in short pieces and even though I frankly found large parts of it fairly boring it mostly managed to not make me want to just skip it wholesale. Though that also might have had something to do with the fact that I knew there was nothing to skip to. Except for the ending, I guess, but the less is said about that, the better.

It pains me having to award such a low score when the author obviously put a ton of effort in his game, but I can only repeat myself, as an adult game, it's just sub par. Even two stars feel generous based on that fact alone.

There's enough plot threads to pique your interest throughout the story though it all peters out in a massively disappointing way. Nothing that interests you is resolved or it doesn't matter in the end with a botched generic ending. Choices are minimal and there to change the next few lines after making them and nothing else.
Another pet peeve of mine is there being a fixed primary LI from the beginning which can't be changed. I find her character to be insufferable as hell. Shown to be "mature" well beyond her age, all men-including MC-are there to do her bidding, always in charge, butts in everywhere. I'm removing a star just because this bitch couldn't stop callling me puppy. More infuriating is the fact that many of the other girls have a similar personality and you don't get a choice to end up with the better ones(Alice, Jasmine, Jenny).
Also, what's with the many unprompted brutal murders the player is part of without any choice? MC comes off as a total psychopath and the story goes off the rails. Totally unhinged story writing. There's no remorse and there are no consequences.
Lastly, enough though the renders are fine, animation models are stiff and there's no variety in sex scenes which are sparsely placed anyway. You're never in control of your character's sex life and it all happens only when the mighty Alexandra wants it.
Next time, try making a game without a total psychopath of a MC and the most unlikeable FMC. And add more sex. Not like the story reached any kind of satisfactory conclusion anyway.

If you're looking for a game to fap too, well this isn't it. The h-scenes are scarce and the animation looks weird and robotic. So much could be done when you have a man and two lesbians. For example, you never see the girls eat each other out and they rarely have group sex albeit they sleep in the same bed every night.

However, if youre looking for a great crime/mob story the writing is superb. You play as the protagonist who works his way up in a crime family and in between the capo's daughters legs and heart. There are believable twists and turns and the plot never grows stale. Its a very nice ride.

4 stars since I'm here mainly to fuck virtually and this sucks in that area. But its well worth a download for the story.

There were things I didn't like, things that could have been done better. And I feel like there should have been more endings (bases on daddy's points) but the epilogue ends up the same.
And a pity the side girls don't get their own endings (I quite liked the Idol Club's secretary).

But overall, I loved the story. This whole "normal guy gets invoved with criminal family" is a setting I really like.

Such a nice romance, and Alexandra is a lovely character.

Good visual novel. Lengthy, slowly paced, but solid characters, good dialogue, and good art.

It's not always clear when a choice matters, and some of the conversations seemed longer than they needed to be. But it was a good experience and I recommend it.

A solid mafia narrative with pretty engaging main characters and a nice romance between the MC and two main LIs that unfortunately has too many other issues holding it back. The best thing to be said about the game is that I was interested to see how it ended and invested in the main characters. The models are dated but nice looking.
As far as the issues, the most glaring is probably that it fails as a porn game, while the potential LIs are all nice looking models the sex scenes are short, not particularly well animated or well written and just not that sexy. Other issues are the overall visuals being dated and some technical issues with some renders and odd renpy issues like a previous scene appearing as the background in the next scene. The writing is overall solid, but again with some errors here and there.
Overall not a bad VN but not great. I added a star for the game being completed in a satisfying if a bit rushed manner. Recommended for people who are interested in a decent but not spectacular mafia romance and aren't worried about top notch visuals or arousing sexual content

As a general reivew , enjoy the game, in what aspects in how good is the story from the beginning, i may say that the end is not the best of all , but it is not bad either.As for the characters, both main and secondary they are well donde and the quality of the images are decent.As final rating 4/5.

Premise: You, the MC, start off as a gardener working on the house of the head of a mafia. There, you meet Alexandra, the mafia boss's daughter. You catch her attention and ultimately get embroiled in the mafia game as you pursue her.


My Thoughts: I really enjoyed the game and had fun. The story was simple but was well carried out. I liked the titular character. She was easygoing, intelligent/strong, and I loved the chemistry between her and the MC. If you pursue the other females in the game, it will feel rushed in the end, and I felt like that was the case for me. *Spoiler Warning* Alexandra's permission to pursue other women as long as she doesn't know about them allows you to play the field throughout the game but will be why won't get happy endings with the other females. Most of them kind of just pursue their own thing and kind of break it off with the MC by the end of it, aside from Danny (Nurse), which is realistic because you can't be there for them since you're with Alexandra but unsatisfying if you want better conclusions with any of them. Some of them aren't really even mentioned. That was my biggest issue with the game. But, again it's titled "Alexandra" not ''The Godfather: Harem Edition"

Other ratings criticize the writing/grammar, awkward sex scenes, and some technical issues. To preface, I'm not a developer so forgive my lack of experience, but none of it really bothered me/ prevented me from enjoying the game. I agree that some things could have been improved: More dialogue, smoother sex scenes, correct head art during dialogue, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the game.

The definition of average. Average visuals, a story that vacillates between interesting and incoherent, and a variety of women you can have relationships with only to have that snatched away by an ending so bland it makes the English envious.

The game ran out of steam well before it ended and the declining quality shows as the game progresses. From sloppy transitions to animations that stutter to typos that require an English to English translation.

Overall the saving grace is the writing for the primary trio and secondary characters. The story may be iffy but the characters are generally written well.

so where to begin? The story is good but the writing hurts. and thats the reason why i can't finish the game. english isnt my native but the most sentences sound wrong for me and that kills the mood to go on.

A really good start and was interesting, but pretty clear the Dev just was done with it by the third act. Disappointing ending , especially with the secondary characters that you build connections with. I guess I give credit for an ending and not abandoning the project completely.

Another VN with a great start and great potential only to falter a bit with the ending. Not sure if it was rushed or ideas just were never flushed out properly, but it definitely didn't feel right. Liked the main characters, and the initial plot, and it was building some decent suspense. However, by the end of the story it just turned out to be average to slightly above average. If you like the look of the characters and/or you enjoy storys about the mafia/mob then give it a go. Otherwise there may not be much here for you.

I was in the midst of writing a long detailed review when my pc decided to shit itself and it was lost :/ CBA rewriting it so here it is briefer;

• A good concept poorly executed
• Too many mistakes, errors & inconsistencies (not just in the language)
• Dev. needs to research the topics he's unfamiliar with (police procedure, crime families, legal practices, how the female body moves & reacts, sex & how two bodies interact, how people think & act) otherwise your writing just comes off as either naive, idiotic or plain lazy
• (mostly) Poor animation (human bodies don't move like that!)
• Repetitive sex scenes, they're not identical but seems like lots of stuff is recycled over & over especially the "dialogue".
• A lot of small weird/illogical (and mostly pointless) storyline details that just undermine the thing as a whole
• Dev should brush up his english skills & hire a proofreader, so many silly mistakes that should've been caught (spelling mistakes, poor grammar, totally wrong words used, dialogue attributed to the wrong character, wrong character names used, etc.

I seems to me that if the Dev. wasn't trying to create five games at once, spent less time on his computer & actually read some books, watched some good TV shows & films, actually had some interaction with real people (socially & sexually) and generally gained some real world experience they could probably produce good VNs.

First thing .. Can't belive I'm even saying that, but prologue part could use some more dialogues. I mean, after MC saves Alexandra, he gets into organisation, and is introduced but.. this feels incredibly rushed. He could maybe think some more than 1 sentence? And is this common occurence in mafia, that after newbie joins from the bottom ranks, someone explains him big part of business? I don't think so. But anyway, that's a minor issue.

The major issue would be the ending parts. I enjoyed most of the game, but the ending managed to kill almost all of my enjoyment. Alexandra-Izzie ending felt like Alexandra solo ending, with a little bit od Izzy on the side. I mean, the are totally in three-way relationship, but Izzy just took housekeeping duties, and Alex didn't even bother to add her into family portrait?

Also, Alex literally gave MC green light to sleep with others, but only to make it so she won't know. And how all the 'side qdventures' ended? Every single one was glossed over with one scene with few dialogue lines. And that's it. Really? Are there other endings. Probably few. Bur do I even want to check them? Not really, because the one I had, showed me it's not worth it.

Oh, and why doesn't it have gallery?

There's also issue with choices. Let me explain. There are small amount of them, either leading to sex scenes of rather typical good/bad way of handling things. But there was an exception. One choice that seem super important. Wothout spoiling, choice about Alex and Izzie family relations. It was even presented differently from the others - instead two little buttons on the side, there were two huge buttons in the middle of the screen. Everything about that situation screamed like it's important. But what happened after this? Nothing. It was treated like it never existed. And with that choice it has even less sense for Izzie to not be part of the family in the end. As the meme goes.. my dissapointment is immesurable and my day is ruined.

There were also different plot parts which seemed to end abruptly. Seriously, it looks like author gave up when he was nearing the end, and just wrote ending only to somehow make a sense, and not to be truly satysfying.
