I recommend saving often. I know other people talk about another scene where the game locks up, but mine is locking up multiple times now randomly on when you play chess against maria in the kitchen.

You can also edit the saved game with an online editor for RPGMaker MV saved games. You can change the amount of gold, which is the money.
You can also change the 3 stats (intellect, charisma and creative, but they are named in Russian), there's more details in my comment in here:

This is a RPGMaker game, I think you can save by pressing Esc to bring the main menu, then choose Save.
