Also yeah, many people wish to hear from Grim again but I personally like to believe he's currently working on another game in silence. His wordpress website shows that he's been insecure about his other games but I know damn well he'd be a succesful game dev if he stopped worrying so much.

Believe me! i do hope he is developing something! but i would so want to talk to him, but i've not found ANY ways to connect, no Discord, Reddit, Instagram...nothing

I'm afraid to be the bearer of bad news as I did not finish editing any new sprite yet... but I do come with a different way of editing those sprites and I actually applied it to the first few sprites I had already modified and I hope you guys will be able to see the different... because I do and I really like it

It's probably a little hard to notice since turning these into GIFs completely destroys the quality but you'll sure see it in-game.

Recently, I think she might also look gorgeous with a straight bob too, like this

I literally tried to "cut" her hair in GIMP, then replace the texture file using UABE, but, somehow, it revert back to the original file.

I literally tried to "cut" her hair in GIMP, then replace the texture file using UABE, but, somehow, it revert back to the original file.

I like the suggestion but it's actually my first time making something this "advanced" in GIMP and I would like to keep it as a simple recolor mod for now. I'm not really changing anything about the design besides making parts black or purple.

Drawing anything with a mouse is terribly awful and I don't have a graphic tablet nor just a pen to edit those textures with and I just figured out a way to not leave jagged or abrupt blendings between textures so I'm just taking it one step at a time for now.

I do like the suggestions you guys have given though and I can obly promise I'll look into them as soon as the full mod is done.

great work mate, but i'm still hoping that grimhelm whould comeback some day bcs even though AQE is almost 7 years old but most of the game today can't even have a half animation quality as it

I'd love to see that. I use GIMP to write and edit documents, but for art I use Krita.

I did thinking a bit and i came to the following conclusion: Grim may not return, but as long as people make fan-art or what you are doing, his games will live on! So it isn't the end of the world!

another update on this dang mod and what's done vs what's left to do :

- all gallery scenes are done (48 available scenes + chestburster + 5 game over screens)
- all UI elements where Ellen appears are done aswell (I also added my own touch to some extra elements and turned most of the blue elements purple to fit the theme)
- I just started editing the gameplay textures which... might take a while considering Ellen isn't animated per se in-game but most of the frames look like duplicates so I could theoretically just copy-paste some edited frames onto other texture files

Once these gameplay sprites are done, I'll make a first version of the mod available for everyone
Unfortunately I didn't look into BepInEx nor how to inject textures in the game so it'll be the good ol' replacer but I can also provide a link to the original asset files if necessary.
