F**k'em, they (the payment processors cartel) are too powerful and have all the leverage, I don't think there will be some middle ground going forward for fetish games (except maybe the vanilla HR-approved harem games, but who knows how long those will last too). From my point of view, I currently see 2 options, that both require compromises and learning curves from both the users and devs (without long shots like petitions or nicely asking the unwilling governments, that have just enforced some more censorship/control disguised as children protection in UK, that is coming in EU soon):
1. go full crypto payments through a platform (or platforms, that could be heavily advertised here) that doesn't/don't bend the knee to those f**kers (less reach and less money for the devs, plus the learning curve of operating crypto wallets, but visa and mastercard could be still used for buying the coin for the transactions), or
2. use the official storefronts for advertising (like OF models use twitch and yt) and hosting there a basic/chopped up SFW version of the game. Buying it (or paying a subscription) there gives you access to some sort of individual code/key/token per payment that you can use for getting subsequent access to the true NSFW uncensored version, hosted/downloadable elsewhere, not on the safe platforms (it would require some sort of code verification/sync between the storefront and the real thing, and more work from the devs for both a working cover SFW and real NSFW version).
Just my 2c, could be other solutions too, more doable/practical than these. Hope it all gets sorted out, because the things I hate the most in this world are censorship and hypocrisy

This is all just very frustrating and it did absolutely nothing to "Improve the internet" just another measure that made things worse.
It's also really frustrating that the verification process is really vague i don't even know how i should verify my age and that's despite the fact that i don't want to share my personal information of my face.
And the worst part is that if the EU law comes in to force we are going to have to do this for every website we use

Itch dropped the ball on this one. We got zero warning, the head of the site was sending saluting emojis in the Discord without telling us why, and then they put a 2008 "I'm leaving Twitter forever!!!" greyscale filter over all the unlisted creator's development dashboards.

If you pay attention it's happening everywhere i have mentioned Youtube several times already but that website has way stricter guidelines than it did 5 years ago and there is clear censorship even on regular content.
Twitch has also much stricter guidelines.
Europe can't use "harmful content" on X because of the "Digital Safety Act" and "Online Safety Act".
And people in the UK can't use any websites other than My Little Pony and Hello Kitty without having the upload their ID card.
This isn't just Erotic games it isn't just porn.
They are a conservative christian group. Cope harder.

When Florida did that for porn sites, Pornhub blocked access to Flori-DUH. Texas passed something similar more recently, didn't see if they did the same.

And since they are extremely religious their ideology includes all the typical hypocrisies that you can expect from that.

I recently learned that 4chan is taking the offensive end on this mess. I know that site ain't well liked around most parts, but I believe it when a dark corner of the internet enters the mess against this shitshow.

Adult modeling sites already had to remove content which isn't against any law in any place.
Example, ATK Models had to remove all sets showing "bad taste" or "subjectively unsanitary" things like dirty panties with a drop of dried period blood, or fart stains. And that's going back 25 years of content on their site.
Also, funny because the girl in the meme you posted would fall under the "barely legal" theme now banned on itcho.io due to ambiguously looking like a teenager.
