Chapter 18 (update #6) Almost Dead
I've completed 240 of the 295 images for this chapter so far.
Only 55 more images to go. I can consistently do about 40 images a week. Then the script is sent to the editors for checking, while I finalize the code. One week to release to the Patreons and SubscribeStars by tiers. We are looking at about 3 weeks before a release party.

As a 33 year veteran even as a reservist you have to always consider the possibilities. and there are a lot of military locked up abroad because of crimes committed over there where they where tried by military and the turned over to locals for further trial by them.

I should be able to easily finish the last of the images needed for this chapter this week. I will get a copy of the script to the editors for review soon (they do this as a free service, and I do appreciate them a lot). Once the images are completed, I will do an Alpha release to Patrons and Subscribe Stars as soon as I can (the first week of next month is the plan), rolling it out to them by tiers. Then, of course, after that, the public release party.

Now in an effort to make the game a little more immersive you will be able to change the main character's side image or remove it completely, your choice.
If you want to add your own face in there you can just use any 3x4 ratio image, but not too big of an image since it's will be resized to 150 x 200 as you can see I grabbed an image from the net and quickly edited (yeahhhh for the magic wand in PS) out the background of it for testing.
it does come with a default image (as seen in one screenshot) this can be turned on or off in the preferences
This may cause your save game to stop working if it does try it without the side image first otherwise you will have to restart (sorry!)

up to you, you will be able to use a .jpg, .png, and .webp only the last two support transparent backgrounds
for context this was my test image (very crudely cropped) it is 467x623 (close enough to 3x4 ratio)
file name must be mc-portrait(.jpg, .png, or .webp)

So we are to assume that the MC doesn't have a face?
Don't get me wrong, I know that people like to insert themselves, so, I understand. But, to me, the MC is NOT me. He's not my avatar. He does not represent my views and even if I decide some things, I am NOT him. So, I would very much prefer him to be a character like any other, designed by the author. Pretty or ugly, is not an issue. As long as it is not faceless, or a silhouette...
This actually bothers me, so I'll leave the side image turned off. Unless there is an actual face there.

so for a player who may want to insert themselves into the game, they will be able to so.
and in keeping with never seeing his face I'm using a little silhouette of a man (Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango Thunderbolt and lightning - very very frightening me) (had to do that) since the MC is the only character without the side image I felt it need something there
for those that prefer the original the side image can be turned off (it's turned on by default)

So what was your point? You said you don't want to play as you? So you can play as someone else.
This may just be language problem, English is not my native tongue.

I recall the story from the first time I was able to enjoy this, and am aware that this labor of love has been a project for a few years.
I don't remember the choppy animation though, especially the duo of Q-n-A being slightly disturbing lol.
Anyway, I am guessing the animation improves as the story progresses?

I'd like to think it has (doesn't actually mean it has improved any), but I should have a new release in about 1 weeks time

Holy batshiit, the term "Transient Ischemic Attack" was used.
I went through the very same thing 5 years ago at my gym while lifting above my class.

I am not traumatized by it or anything, it was just an eye opener.
AND its another addition to the already familiar things in this novel,
