Well, what can I say about this game ? It feels good and somehow natural, BUT the one thing I'm not too happy about (but on the same it's what makes it so interesting) is the fact that there isn't the harem route. So many good LI, but you just have to choose one, every single time, or you may ruin the relationship. So far I really like Natasha, Liliana, Rosie, Sakura and Anong. I replay the game as much as possible to get all the content.

But I still have question, if Alexa is Nathasha mother, does that mean the she is also Rosie's ? And is Ivan Rosie's father then ?

Hey fighters and metalheads!

We've grown quite a bit... so first of all, a warm welcome to all those that have joined recently. For those that are new, I usually post a developer log every two weeks that keeps you up to date on where we are, what I'm doing, some technical insights and improvements I'm making.

I'll also start up the bi-weekly special renders again soon between the developer logs, and go through each of the characters that you vote for. As you may have noticed, I ended up using some of them as new phone backgrounds that can be unlocked throughout the game. Making these, are a good source for me to use this way, but they're also a testing ground for me to explore different things and improve my abilities.

-Development-
I completed the opening scene from episode 1 last week. Took me a little longer than I wanted, but that's because I had to redo the song the MC and Nyah play with the new music system I wrote for the last release. But it's cool, previously it was just a bit random and losing the beat very quickly. Now, it actually stays on beat, and switches accordingly. There's a big difference between what I released a few years ago, compared to now. Episode 1, although not big, has a few unique elements that are only there one time, like meeting Agatha the admin lady, the imagination sequence during the altercation with Joe, etc. I'm looking forward to the scene where you meet Lily for the first time, and see how it compares to the old version. That's usually the common stopping point where people quit, as Lily is just too creepy and horrible looking.

While I set up these scenes and have little to render, I've taken the liberty to re-render the scenes I had to do at a lower quality from the last release. I've started with Natasha's scenes and they look so much better now. They still looked decent on release, but the muddy washed out shadows and details really bother me. Her skin textures were also of a terrible quality (lot of noisy details that make her often look dirty), so I spent some time doing it up a bit. They'll be added to the next release.

Although in general the quality has jumped quite a bit, there's still many mistakes I made. I was getting used to setting up new DLSR cameras and started using proper light exposure settings. Hence the earlier scenes in the episode look a bit ropey. I often ended up using far too heavy lenses, eventually setting up a rule to only use 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 65mm, the lower numbers for wider group/environment shots, the higher for intimate and close up shots. In terms of exposure, I ended up bringing out too many fine details and heavy contrast, often ending up with noisy and dirty looking faces, skin texture and crushed colors. But hey, all part of the learning process, and getting better with each release going forward.

-Hardware improvements-
One man, one machine, one mission. This really killed it for me during the end phases of development. I had a huge queue of images to render, and having only one machine to render overnight, fucked me over and delayed the release. The new 5090 will be released this week, and I plan to build myself another machine that'll replace my current development rig. I'll then use the old one as my render slave, that likely won't ever stop rendering. That'll improve my update speed a little.

-Releases-
Once episode 1 is completed, I'll release that as the next update, which won't be too long from now. If you're not interested in replaying, I suggest you skip it, and wait for another.

-Fights-
I did a lot of work on the fight system last year, and wanted to release with the new "Fight now" system enabled. Unfortunately, it was a lot of extra work to make it work as a standalone thing. I need to separate all of the elements (like setting your combo and styles), and somehow make that available to you outside of the story. It progresses naturally as you play the story, but not if you're outside of it.

All earlier fights (Rosie and Diana), also don't have all final moves rendered, as you wouldn't have them at that point. When I get to Episode 2 and the Rosie fight, I'll make sure to add them, and then it can be available as a standalone option. There were other things I wanted to do and add to the system itself, that I didn't have time for. I briefly talked about it months ago, by adding a breakbar to the limbs, so you can't instantly submit an opponent in good health. You have to wear them down a bit first, before you can finish the submission. This is to stop it from being a little too easy. The other thing I still need to add, is takedown stuffing. The new block and evade features work well, but also need to be added for a chance to avoid a takedown.

Anyway, that's enough rambling... sex now, sex now!

Love,

Ezy ❤

Personally I thought that chapter 1 was fine, good even. Lily is crazy but I found her pretty funny. It felt like she's the wild and crazy to Natasha's sweet and steady. But if the dev feels like he can improve on some things, then that's up to him I guess.

Yes, I agree. I think this game touched me, and maybe a lot of other folks, because it mirrors real life. I came from a poor background and had always been searching for a better life for my family and a girl like Nat. I learned early on that it's just an uphill battle when you are not white and tall (in my case, I am not even black or American, so I don't even have a black/non-white president to celebrate). So, seeing a game here that touches on something deeper is refreshing.
I am halfway up the mountains and still haven't found my Nat yet. But hey, at least in this game, I got my Nat :)
Honestly race does not matter really. I have met some truly awful white women who play victim first chance they get while using the fact that are a women to their advantage to bully male coworkers or attempt to make their job harder than it needs to be.

Culture matters too. Some women cherish more traditional values that are more geared toward good relationships between the sexes while others... do not.

Basically there are lesbo feminlst women who will try to compete with and boss males around as if they were men, while women from more traditional values are more likely to show them respect and seek to cooperate and work together with men rather than try to beat or compete with men.

Do not be swayed by the color of one's skin... their personality alone can make you hate them and their skin anyway.

What really matters are a person's values, all else matters less because values (what they both value and what they do not) decide how they actually behave.

First thing with Rosie is to flirt with her during the fight against her (taking her to the ground is needed for this). Then just after the match tell her that you're more interested in her than Natasha. After this when Natasha is sent to the hospital invite her at home. The sex scene with her is during MC birthday. You have to choose her. In what I have experience chose Omega instead of Alpha doesn't change anything about it, even though you do miss some content while renovating the abandoned building.

Now to get Lily to bed isn't hard, I mean even if in all my games I stayed with Broseph (and BJJ was chosen as second martial art), I actually got two times to play with her. I think interactions in first chapter may be quite important for this to happen, then, once you have all the friendship bar filled, after Natasha is sent to the hospital, if you don't invite Rosie at home, Lily text you and then she comes instead of Rosie, and contrary to Rosie she does have sex with MC. Second time is at birthday party, you just have to choose her.

This is only a suggestion Ezykeyal, and I do not know how it would be be to code it, but I think it would enhance the difficulty of fights a bit.

The only other notable game with a fight mechanic that I have played here is Our Red String (by Eva Kiss). To be honest it is more heavy on sex and how to get it than any real plot, but the fight mechanic does have a time bar limit that makes fighting more of a challenge.

That said you can still cheat by saving inbetween fighting bouts where you are ahead to help you win, which fortunately you do not allow in your game.

Still I think a time bar limit could be a useful way to make submissions a bit more difficult. Basically the more health your opponent has the less time you would have to make a submission before they break out of it? Or perhaps it could be coded where certain styles of fighting inherently break out of submissions faster than others, even though they will do so even faster if their health is high.

You can kind of compare it to the fighting game MUGEN. You have light brawler characters like cammy who will get totally destroyed by characters like Shocker (marvel villain) who will shoot ranged attacks constantly. A skilled player playing as Cammy could still win, but the AI being dumb would most likely lose and hard.

From what I have heard, EZY is going to make the fights slightly more difficult and realistic, by using some avoidance techniques as well as different methods of defense. Everything is Beta tested so if the fights are too difficult they will be adjusted. I would not worry too much. He is the most meticulous developer I know. The game will undoubtedly be fantastic when it is released.

About the difficulty to add a timer depending on the opponent current life, it seems quite easy to implement. I mean, it's just about taking the variable of the life bar, setting it in an inversely proportional formula and that's it (okay it's a bit simplified, but you get the general idea). Still, I would prefer something that would be more like the Def Jam Fight For New York submission system with a single submission bar instead of several for each kind of body part.

The only Link I can get to work is PixelDrain (because it's slow AF since I cancelled my account.) and I much prefer Gofile which is broken the file is missing from WDHO and Mixdrop just takes me to links for downloading Opera which is BS
