See that is the thing all these "omg use our nazi patreon!!" people don't understand.Hatreon doesn't support Paypal, so it's useless
Not many people are going to be dumb enough to spend BTC with the price fluctuations the way they are going.I have a radical idea. Why not have a platform where patrons pay exclusively in bitoin (or some other cryptocurrency) ?
MakerSupport seems to be used by primarily dumbasses. Their main topics seem to be feminism and Islam, and how they're secretly taking over western civilization, and ruining it....basically insane right wing propaganda.I also found another alternative to Patreon:You must be registered to see the links
In case people aren't comfortable with Hatreon. Please pass this info on to Saddog if anyone happens to have direct contact with him.
Yeah..I don't care about politics I just want my porn lolMakerSupport seems to be used by primarily dumbasses. Their main topics seem to be feminism and Islam, and how they're secretly taking over western civilization, and ruining it....basically insane right wing propaganda.
On the other hand, it might be the perfect place for a lot of devs to go to, because MakerSupport seems to genuinely not give a shit about the content that people are producing (obviously nothing illegal, just fringe).
True, but if the middle man/store front (which are essentially what patreon is) are sketchy, than I'd rather not let them handle my money.Yeah..I don't care about politics I just want my porn lol
That's fair but I did a bit of research on them and they are a legit company. They're an LLC which means their accredited by the government for limited liability (meaning if they go under for whatever reason the people who have money with the website ie you and I will get our money back). Furthermore, they seem to be upfront with their terms of service, specifically mentioning NSFW content and how it is completely allowed provided it is labeled as such.True, but if the middle man/store front (which are essentially what patreon is) are sketchy, than I'd rather not let them handle my money.

I wouldn't bet on a single horse just yet. Patreon has the same advantage Facebook, youtube and twitch have, they're the largest platforms offering their services, and for good reason.Drip is gonna kill off patreon anyway most likely assuming it actually turns out properly from a layout/payment/etc perspective just becasue most of the big money SFW content creators will most likely jump ship as soon as it shows to be a true option.
(which is why patreon seems to be trying to cash out to a potential investor because they have to see the writing on the wall)
It's frustrating that it's a choice between hate speech or heavily censored content. Just need a decent platform that manages to figure out that purely CG/text dark fetishes are fine, it's the real life abuse they should focus on removing. Not to mention that considering MakerSupport and Hatreon are both catering to less savory individuals, people are probably put off by them, like myself.
Amen to that brotherIt's frustrating that it's a choice between hate speech or heavily censored content. Just need a decent platform that manages to figure out that purely CG/text dark fetishes are fine, it's the real life abuse they should focus on removing.
Kickstarter is way bigger than Patreon. Patreon is the new MySpace.I wouldn't bet on a single horse just yet. Patreon has the same advantage Facebook, youtube and twitch have, they're the largest platforms offering their services, and for good reason.
Indeed, as long as crypto are in young huge fluctuation phase, it won't be worth it.Not many people are going to be dumb enough to spend BTC with the price fluctuations the way they are going.
That's the only important thing.MakerSupport seems to be used by primarily dumbasses. Their main topics seem to be feminism and Islam, and how they're secretly taking over western civilization, and ruining it....basically insane right wing propaganda.

I don't give a shit about a far right, far left or extreme puritan dude being funded through a platform, I just don't give him money, as simple as that. Basic tolerance is also to let live legal content that I don't agree with. It's frustrating that it's a choice between hate speech or heavily censored content. Their business models are fundementally different, so comparing them is not a good idea.Kickstarter is way bigger than Patreon. Patreon is the new MySpace.
Does Stripe or Paypal ever censor people?Regarding Makersupport, they use Stripe and are planning to add PayPal shortly, the same processors Patreon use, meaning they're going to run into exactly the same problems as Patreon.
An alternative has to have a rock solid plan when it comes to payment processors, otherwise if they run into issues then all subscriptions are cancelled and creators have to start again from 0. Billing yourself as an "alternative to Patreon, without the censorship" whilst using the same processors as Patreon is just plain retarded and a complete contradiction of terms.
TLDR: Makersupport isn't a viable alternative.
