>Disappears for over a year
>Still keeps getting money because they kept donations open (while providing nothing)
>Refuse to elaborate further
>Game gets "mysteriously" removed from Patreon
>Refuse to elaborate further (again)
>Metaphorical middle finger to every supporter (a.k.a.: abandoning game to go do something else instead of geting funds from another crowd-funding platform, expecting people to still give money while pretending all of this never happened and won't happen again)

Fucking hilarious.

Only an idiot will support you again with this type of behavior ! So you cancel the project , and you will start a new one on the same platform that ruined your first game hoping they wont shut you down again. Seriously ?!

.We know why we got taken down, so it's not like we're hoping it won't happen again. We're pretty much expecting it.
.Because of a few reasons, we can't use SS or similar platforms, so Patreon is the best option for us right now.
.Making the game for free just isn't realistic.
.Support on Patreon or any other platform is completely optional and only if people actually want to help. Our game usually gets leaked to pirate sites on the first day anyway.
.F95 is literally a pirate forum too, and as you can see, nobody really complains.

All our old patrons still have their roles on Discord and can always reach us out. And they’ll get free access to the new game as compensation.

Just being honest. As much as we’d love to keep working on Alvein, it’s just not something we can do right now.

Oh yea until Patreon decides they don't like something else with your game. Well good luck . I personally will never spend money on developers that abandon their game like that. Its not like you didn't know Parteon is strictly against incest . But you kept making the game. Tomorrow they can ban adult content all together. What then you will said again that you were "unlucky" and you "hoped" things were different.

What are you gonna do if your internet gets shut off tomorrow?

Dude, relax, I’m not asking you for money. You can just move on if you want.
Hope you enjoyed Alvein and that you’ll like our new game too. ;)

I may not have a lot of post history, but I've been around here a long time. Abandoning a beloved game does not earn you good faith. I know this is a pirate site, but it does earn people contributors if their game is worth it, which yours was. I contributed to Alvein before it went dark for that long period of time.

In my EIGHT years of watching games rise and fall on this site, I've never seen a studio or creator survive game abandonment beyond becoming a hollow shell of themselves. It causes a reputation to develop that scares away possible donors/contributors. This move WILL do long-term damage to you... I highly encourage you not to take this path.

Sometimes the best move as a business is to take a short term loss for a long term gain. People wouldn't be as upset if you at least wrapped up the main story and major plot points, and ideally added at least 1 sex scene to the main characters that we haven't fucked yet. Redo the layout of the gallery room and change up some dialogue so it seems like the game was always intended to be a little shorter, and there you go, a completed game. Having at least 1 completed game is very important for supporters, then they know you are a trustworthy developer.

Honestly right now I think your reputation is already pretty bad with all of the delays, development problems, and communication issues, and not finishing Alvein would only hurt it more. If you don't finish the game you would probably be better off just retiring the Yni brand and doing your next project under a new name.

This is just friendly advice, I realize that those of us getting a game for free here don't really have much right to complain.

I’m not counting on our reputation or past work. What really matters is the result we’ll achieve with the new game. I couldn’t care less about my reputation or what people think — if I make a good game and keep the updates coming, then honestly, what else matters?

I’m not trying to prove anything with words. There’s no point. If the game sucks, people won’t support it. If it’s good, they will.

We made Alvein from scratch, and we never really made any serious money from it. It was always a passion project. Like I’ve said before, my artist earns way more working solo.

The new game is a spiritual successor to Alvein. If you liked Alvein, you’ll probably like what we’re working on now — maybe even more. Alvein had a lot of flaws and things we didn’t do right, and we’re fixing that this time around.

We’re not abandoning Alvein or throwing everything in the trash. It’s more like one project evolving into something else. Same creators, same heart behind it. So don’t worry about someone else’s project, and no need to give us advice. We’ve thought this through for a long time, and it wasn’t an easy decision to start something new. Don’t assume we just gave up and didn’t consider options like switching to SS or whatever.
