It's always funny to see people criticize a developer for "taking too long to update" when they don't know how to make a single digital drawing or write a single line of code, even more so when they don't give a single cent and download everything from a free forum.

Your game is quite good and entertaining, and whether users like it or not, you're free to take your time making it. I hope it's not abandoned (for real). Good luck.

.We know why we got taken down, so it's not like we're hoping it won't happen again. We're pretty much expecting it.
.Because of a few reasons, we can't use SS or similar platforms, so Patreon is the best option for us right now.
.Making the game for free just isn't realistic.
.Support on Patreon or any other platform is completely optional and only if people actually want to help. Our game usually gets leaked to pirate sites on the first day anyway.
.F95 is literally a pirate forum too, and as you can see, nobody really complains.


All our old patrons still have their roles on Discord and can always reach us out. And they’ll get free access to the new game as compensation.


Just being honest. As much as we’d love to keep working on Alvein, it’s just not something we can do right now.

I think you misunderstood me. You can and should criticize a game, whether it's because the plot is bad, because the graphics are low quality, or because the gameplay is bad, but not because it's "slow to update." That's what's stupid.

Now, saying that NO ONE opposed the delay of updates is not true, and many did and do so not only in this game but in others.

Finally, if in this case the game can't continue (because the developer doesn't want to or can't), isn't it better to simply say so instead of continuing silently?

In the end, they'll still attack it, but that's the reality.

Exactly, alvein was a great game and was a piece of art. There is no doubt in that. And those who oppose for slow updates don't know the efforts. But the dev is just avoiding criticism,no apology and zero explanation ( maidenless behaviour) .

There's always a risk when you've put trust and money into the creators, that they'll finish whatever they advertised.
It's the same with Kickstarter. I can think of a few that handled this way worse.

It's not really the creators' fault that Patreon cornered the market to a degree where going to its alternatives just won't get you enough money for your project to pay for itself, while also having nonsensical rules they enforce opaquely and arbitrarily. These people do need to make a living.

yeah that's the one I'm talking about, the Dev, Yni, can transfer their work there instead of scrapping all of this work, and start over due to Patreon rules. As far as I understand, that's the reason behind this game being abandoned.

We’re not abandoning Alvein or throwing everything in the trash. It’s more like one project evolving into something else. Same creators, same heart behind it.

So for clarification, Alvein in is current form won't be receiving any more updates (effectively, "shelved") and that all time and energy will be focused on this new project? If so, that's sad to hear but I eagerly look forward to it. I just hope it hits all the saucy stuff your first project tried to do!
