Can't really say I'm a fan of the new battle style. Been playing this for some time, even back before the Chap 6 release, and while I like some of the aspects, not a total fan.
Being able to choose upgrade for HP or Ecto boost is cool, I especially like the 1.5x increase compared to the point system and choosing one's own skills upgrade, though as a ex-dev for a couple games, the point system is easy to implement and use for things like fight scenes. But as a player of renpy games, I much prefer being able to go back a single turn with a swipe of a mouse wheel, quick save and quick load as needed, and basically just be able to beat the opponent without having to go all the way back to the beginning of the fight.
