Stretched themselves too thin by working on other projectsPeople consider DC to be slow (yeah i get it, he dawdles) but damn look how much more content Summertime Saga have in comaprison to Amity Park (keep in mind AP was released only one year after SS and what ? AP have 5 times less content or so).
DarkCookie streams for over 4 years daily didn't see that from gzone at all, instead they leave there fans in the dark.
And don't come with circumstances bla bla bla, Darkcookie have 3 small children to look after but still get updates out much faster than this group.
In addition, his drawings look at least uniform than what takes place here where part of the game is equipped with old (better) art style and the rest with new (unfitting) one.
He also sees that it's pretty stupid to work on a second game when the first one isn't even finished, which unfortunately can't be said about this dev team.
Plus he makes polls & ask about the opinion of his fanbase, what the authorities of AP don't seem to care either.
I think this is bad but Female Agent takes the cake, there's Cyberromance or whatever but that already started wrong.but I still have to say that AP Redux might be the worst decision I’ve seen from project on this site, — not that I follow that many, but I did see Innocent Witches devs deciding to rewrite the whole game for the third time, wasting time on something most people don’t even care about (while also making it worse). But really, wasting time on worsening the thing people didn’t like about your game is still not as insane to me as remaking something people liked (and making it worse).
I agree with you on many of your points as I stated in my comment on last page, like how the game looking so similar to the original show is what drew me to the game. Out of all the new scenes (in gallery) only 2 of the women still look ok to me. That being Maddie and Desiree. The rest just look off to me. I however will not be dropping the game for now. I will play through this update and then make my decision.Having played the game there's nothing wrong with the new art look, it's just not as good as the original art. The original art is as close to the characters originality as it gets, not to mention sexier. Example: Nurse Kate. Regarding the negative drawback from players, that's to be expected.
This game is going on 4 years old and the Devs decided now of all times to change the art, which is a big deal, we're not talking about changing features or anything, but the art itself. The very thing that drew a lot of people, myself including to the game in the first place.
So best of luck the rest of the way to the Devs, but I'm gonna pass on this.
I understand. It's a difficult decision to make, especially when you've spent so much time on a particular game. This is my second time, within the last 7 days dropping a well liked game because the Dev randomly decided to change/ruin their characters, but all I can do is move on. *Shrugs*I agree with you on many of your points as I stated in my comment on last page, like how the game looking so similar to the original show is what drew me to the game. It’s one thing to remaster art or renders for the better of your project, but when it hurts your project more than it helps it, that’s when maybe as a Dev you should ask yourself is this really the right decision moving forward. The Dev of Sylphine recently did the same thing, which left a lot of people scratching their heads. But at the end of the day it’s their game, and there’s plenty other hungry Devs out there to support.I know it’s a useless comment and I wish I could give a more constructive criticism, but I still have to say that AP Redux might be the worst decision I’ve seen from project on this site, — not that I follow that many, but I did see Innocent Witches devs deciding to rewrite the whole game for the third time, wasting time on something most people don’t even care about (while also making it worse). But more than that, the decision was also handled very badly. This is something you need a lot of input from fans from the start — even if you are absolutely sure about your decision to shoot your project in the foot — at least talking with fans both on patreon and outside would make it possible make this change less painful. To start adjusting new art before making a bunch of it, including animations.
I’m not even a fan of original designs, I feel they are wa-a-ay too ass-centric while I’m more into boobs, but even I can’t see how new art is an improvement. Previous art-style was unique, and thus looked even better than it was because it had little competition. New art is just another anime-wannabe design. Not bad, but nowhere near the best and there is A LOT of competition when it comes to hentai games, making it seem weaker than it is. And while even do anime redesign if you're not giving everyone huge anime tits to rival their asses? Honestly, a potential change from bowling pins to hourglass figures was the only thing I hoped to like in this redesign.
Also, changing scenes to make them less sexualised (you can find examples on previous pages of this thread) is just insane for an «update» of a porn game.
I still wish the team all the best, but I might start playing new versions literally for the plot (unlike with Innocent Witches I actually like the story and characters in this game quite a lot).
